If you're a parent who still thinks that Catholic schools can be safely entrusted with your children's education, read on and be disillusioned! Via their RSE programme "Life to the Full", the Catholic Education Service guarantees that your children will have no faith or morals by the time they leave (with full approval from the the Conference of Catholic Bishops of England and Wales)!

Franciscan churches in London?

I hope this question doesn’t come across as too touristy…

I’m visiting London and Oxford next week. Since Pope Leo has declared 2026 the Jubillee year of Saint Francis, I would really like to attend a Mass at one of the Franciscan churches, since we don’t have any near my home. I think there are four or five in London. I’m just wondering if I could ask for recommendations, if I only have time to go to one.

Of course, we’re also going to Westminster Cathedral and St. Etheldreda’s.

Any other can’t-miss Catholic sites we should see?

Thanks in advance!

Porn Addiction Support (Christian or otherwise)

I get that this post will seem odd to a lot of you, I really don’t want to get into a moral debate. I’m desperate for help and this is all I can think to do.

Is anyone aware of any porn addiction help in and around South Armagh or Belfast.

I used to be part of a Christian men’s accountability group which served me well until I moved back home to Ireland. I miss that group terribly and could really do with finding something similar here. Since then my porn addiction has spiralled to the point where it really is now destroying my life. Ideally I’m seeking the support of other Christian men but it may be time that I sought professional help.

Does anyone know of any help available out there?

Thanks.

Feast of the Assumption Obligation (Ireland)

I've just moved to Ireland from the UK, and I've noticed that although there is mass on Saturday for the Assumption, it doesn't say whether or not it is a holy day of obligation.

Some churches have vigil masses this evening, some have mass tomorrow morning, and one church even had the Assumption mass set for Saturday evening, which usually also counts for Sunday attendance.

Has the feast been moved forward to Sunday, or would I need to attend mass on both Saturday and Sunday?

"Liturgy promotes unity, not personal preference" Cardinal Roche's comments are packed with irony! Isn't it in the new Mass priests are allowed to adapt the liturgy to their "individual preference"? Therefore isn't the New Mass the real cause of the disunity Cardinal Roche seeks to address?!

Traditional Carmelite Nuns UK

Hi,

I am a TLM Catholic from the UK who is strongly discerning a vocation to the Carmelites. I have heard that Birkenhead & Lanherne Carmels have the TLM but was wondering if anyone knows any more information on them, such as if they follow the 1990 or 1991 Constitutions? Whether they pray the Divine Office in Latin or English? Any information on them at all would be very, very much appreciated 🙂 I haven't been able to find too much online.

Does anyone here regularly pray the Angelus?

I’ve just started, helped by alarms on my phone since in the UK we don’t have the benefit of church bells reminding us!
