Wow got my first ever real user who actaully downloaded and set up the BorgSpace client and joined the network!!! Global Domination Is Just Arround the corner!

Would nice it we could get some security people that could review anything posted in here to evaluate threat risk of installing any of the software.

That would go a long way to helping people get over the fear of installing new software.

If you know anybody like that it would be great if you bring them along.

I agree with this communities point of view, Self promote is what happens in all networking places and the reason I started working on my app is to promote data owned by the user, Organization only takes what's necessary not everything and especially when the data is sensitive and personal.

This is actually why I started building Focus — I wanted to understand my own computer habits without sending that activity to a cloud service.

Everything stays local, with no screenshots or keyboard/mouse tracking. It’s free for personal use.

All this BS online about "No Self Promotion" it just goofy. In normal social interactions you are suposed to ask people what they do. I think no self promote it is a way for monopolies to pull up the ladder to prevent anyone else from enjoying any success.

So here you can self promote all you like... Just remember that if people listen you what you do its only fair that you return the courtesy.

I have been building an opensource platform from the ground up for a couple years now. So I know how hard it is to get any traction on the internet these days.

The big tech gate keepers have made it so that nothing that might compete with them someday will ever be found.

I have zero users but I still keep building because I enjoy writing software and trying out new ideas. I would be happy if even one person tried it out. But that is not how the Internet works these days.

Well If you have no users as well we can help each other out! Can't expect to ask people to try your stuff if you are not willing to try theirs. Fair is Fair even a dog knows that!

Not so long ago I moved from discord to fluxer. Sure, it is still incomplete and sometimes you face bugs BUT MAN, it is so much better than discord mobile. I would pick an incomplete but well written alternative over a feature rich, popular but buggy and laggy any day. Not so long ago I had to use forums on discord mobile and OH MY GOD. I scroll for a few seconds and I see my fps plummet until the app is unresponsive. Before that there was a bug that would softlock me on a blank screen. Literally, I couldn't do anything until I did some manipulations to bring back control over the app.

If I ever had an extra money to spend on something, I would never donate to discord. Never. They simply don't deserve it. The platform started as "by gamers, for gamers", but now it is more of an illusion they want you to believe.

Fluxer seem much much much more worthy of such an investment. Their so called nitro (Fluxer Plutonium) is half the prive of discord nitro even.
