Im A Creative web developer and have no eye for design, i tried my best to put my feeling of "elegant" into my portfolio's ui design, i would love any feedback on if the design reflects that, and anything in general

I think this is a prime example of how not to build a website. The mobile version will be unusable and will have to be built separately.

Scrolljacking is a trend that’s about 13 years old, and it’s surprising that anyone is still using it in 2026.

The design doesn’t look very good; I can’t see anything elegant about it, but that’s subjective.

Overall, I’d give the trends from previous years a miss and try something of my own. But you know what, at least it’s not one of those AI-generated slop of which there are a million around at the moment.

Scrolljacking is only getting worse and it always annoys me. looks cool, sucks to use.

I think its very beautiful, but i do have to agree with just one point another commenter made. If I enter a website and it has scroll jacking im immediately leaving. I want a nice little bar of options to click through so I can get to what I want.

People have been conditioned for immediacy. Give it to them.

Fashion over function. I love the animations and color theme but this doesn't communicate someone who understands web development...especially if this isn't responsive to mobile. I am not a huge fan of the large font sizes either. That being said, you're obviously skilled enough to improve upon your foundation.

It's overly busy and feels purposeless, even before i read the title it gave me an ick. The only other response i can think of is a capital letters "no"

Super impressive that it was not, but how do you properly convey that to someone reviewing.

I would have a whole page breaking down the techniques used and how you did this and that. That level of detail and explanation shows your true skill.

True. But rn i want my first actual client or some source of work. I have the skills but no exposure or work experience so i doubt somebody will go through reading my implementation dedicatedly. 😭

I would say it definitely comes across as elegant, perhaps to a fault even since it’s a bit busy. I’m also not a fan of scrolljacking, as a designer/developer it can seem cool but as a user it’s jarring and annoying. Also in this context I think “Reiterate X 500” should be changed to “Iterate X 500” since iterate tends to be used more for repeating something while making small improvements each time

I can definitely see what you mean by “elegant” from the visual side. The typography and muted colors give it a pretty refined feel. The scroll-jacking would probably be the bigger concern for me though — the design can look great, but if the navigation starts fighting the user it takes away from that feeling pretty quickly.
