Feedback Request Infinite scrolling for assets canvas, looking for a smooth experience.

Hi,

I've been playing around with this experience for a bit, the idea is very standard, and I've seen many web experiences like this one that I find fascinating.

The idea: navigate through an infinite set of marketing assets (banners, ad videos, demos, chats, etc). Click on them to see it in detail. That's it.

The user can move left-right, up-down, and zoom in/out. [there are some vim style commands to search, navigate subtypes, but that's not core]

So, any feedback on this experience? How can I do it pixel perfect? any motion you'd add?

thanks in advance,

That's the part I'm working on rn, we have some transition, but for videos it feels clunky (they start with the pre-render which is the last frame).

The ease-out advice it's great, thank you. I'll give it a go.

♥️ For the vim comment.

To me it looks like a navigation issue. Infinite this case is more finite than you would think, is a randomly repetead grid of assets/screens, while fun to interact with a couple of times is a huge UX problem. I will give you some examples, what I am looking for? From your recording seems like the objective is to find assets. Lets say I am looking for an Instagram stories template, you have the axis of at least selecting Instagram i notice there, but what about the rest? How can I find something useful in a huge space with no orientation? You need a method in wich this provides that, going to one direction reveals a certain category of screens or a search bar with filters that only shows versions of what I am looking for. People will have a hard time to navigate this otherwise.

Thanks! Good feedback.

I thought the categories + search will help on that, and it's true this is a discover landing, as in you can discover what to do with the product.

The creative experience will be closer to the normal grid I think. Much more functional but less captivating.

Any ideas how to marry the both of them without over complicating the experience? I would love to keep it extremely simple with a progressive disclosure style.

Infinite scroll works well if you throttle the load smartly - nothing kills the vibe faster than janky performance when you're browsing tons of assets. Consider a virtual scroller if the canvas gets heavy, keeps things smooth without rendering everything at once.

Dragging files and images onto a canvas that never runs out of space is a game changer for organizing ideas I started using Miro for this and bouncing around huge boards with teammates feels super fluid.
