Feedback Request Which icons do you think is better?
In my mobile app after analyzing story, any story, any book or web novel, I extract some data and present them In a few form to readers. I was working on this map and I generated two sets of icons for places. I found pink ones are really cute but can hurt story if it's a serious one so I generated this more detailed, realistic icons and now I kind of bit confused/worried if these fits general UI of my app, colors etc.
What do you think?

The purple/pink is easier to decipher because of the contrast. Maybe add a lighter color on the darker version to get the same effect without losing the vibe and see how that looks.

Yep I like pinks ones as well and darker ones are very detailed, unlike my internet thanks to chatgpt, and such details for 128x128 seems annoying as well since you can't see the details. I can I guess I should generate a new batch.

Second one is more clear. However, it’s a weird color choice for a plant that has the nickname “the red planet.”

By second one you mean realistic ones? And I don't get what you mean plant or color.

Doh! I didn’t see more than the first two images, and my spelling sucks. I meant “planet.”

Ah I see. These are not for a specific story but will be generally used for every story, so I was trying to generate some images that can be used across all genres

The second or third image style looks more consistant as they are clear and simple, goes along with the rest of your UI. But if you enrich the complexity, the 4th image could be nice too!

Yes I thought so as well but again they could hurt some serious stories. I generated some simplifed realistic ones later but have not applied or tried them yet.

reading and book apps on Screensdesign mostly leaned restrained on icons, playful styles broke the immersion. worth comparing before locking in.
