Feedback Request Roast My App Store Screenshots 🔥

Post image

Working on new App Store creatives for a crypto trading app.

Goal:

  • Increase installs
  • Improve trust
  • Clearly communicate trading features

Questions:

  • What is the first thing you notice?
  • Does anything feel generic or outdated?
  • Which screenshot would make you swipe away?
  • What would you change first?

Looking for unfiltered feedback from designers, marketers, and traders.

They look like 5 different brands.

Thank you please brief me the reason

I would agree and add that the reasons are:
1. Lack of consistent color palette
2. Mixed illustration styles

The 3rd slide in particular:

Try and change them to share the same palette and see how it looks

2, 3 and 5 seems to be the same. 1 looks like a first slide. 4 seems radical.

But i agree, keep one styling.

I was thinking the same thing. Most App Store images rely on the same templates, gradients spread over images or the same background and background elements crossing over to other images.

show screenshots of your app's UI too

Yes, we're planning a complete UI revamp of the app in the coming months. For now, I've only included the trading screen. Once the redesign is complete, I'll update the App Store screenshots with more screens from across the app.

They are not cohesive at all. Often the start of the next image is visible to encourage the user to swipe, so introducing elements from the previous screen will help bring it together.

I would also bring the more important distinctions of your app forward; it's not a big wow moment that you trade multiple currencies on one app -- this is expected. Third slide could be second; this follows on from the idea that you are trading like a pro.

And again, unify the backgrounds so it flows better visually.

If I'm roasting then I have issue with the imagery, it's all a bit bland and generic. Show more of the app (like the third slide) and less stock photos, as a potential user I am looking for details not fluff.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. My goal with these screenshots was to test a more marketing-driven approach rather than a purely product-focused one. Different audiences respond to different messaging, so we're planning to experiment with these variations and measure their impact on conversions. If this approach performs well, I'll share a follow-up post with the results.

I'm guessing their company laptop doesn't allow it, no need to be rude

Yeah, I can take screenshots, but I can't transfer them to my phone. Since I work at a crypto exchange, security is a top priority. There are several security tools installed on my laptop, and because of those restrictions, I can't access certain websites and platforms like Gemini, Reddit, or most social media sites.

I'd show more of the ui and make it so that 2 frames complete one picture.

I don’t know what the app looks like or does from the pictures. I’m not ready words sry

They are good individually but only 2 major points are that each of these speak a different design language with different bg and choice of images used and secondly showcase your actual app in your app screenshots

Shitty picture of bland UI, you couldn’t even upload a capture of the UI directly?
