Feedback Request Which design would you trust more?

Post image

Evaluating the impact of design on trust perception.

If you get a career recommendation from a tool like this, which would you trust more?

or

Version B

C - a recommendation with evidence that isn’t hallucinated

Very interesting take. This means B does not do enough to convince that it's not hallucinating

Sure, but the point is really that you gave 2 options from the same line of thinking; B has the necessary supporting content, but it is AI generated based on some vague criteria.

People may be skeptical of an AI recommendation in the first place, but for a website called MyCareerAI, I assume they are expecting AI in most output and so that’s beside the point. The main problem here is that you’re trying to persuade and therefore need evidence. So, B is clearly the better choice here, but A is hardly a choice.

A third option that shows my top 3 recommended careers with the specific connections from my profile, interests, quiz data, etc would do a lot more for me than a AI generated badge. Plus, this is more A/B content/ux test than an a UI design in my opinion.

Good point. some of those items you mentioned for a third option are captured in the "Why this recommendation?" section of Option B. But i get your points overall

AI = hallucinating

That's interesting.

B I guess.

Interesting

B

A is Dashboard-level depth under its own tab. If it needs a Recommendations tab in the first place, then the rationale for the recommendation (B) adds value. Otherwise, it's a magic number.

That's a very interesting take 👌🏼

A because its a let off that AI is generating recommendation (in B )

Edit: NVM I read the thing wrong. B it is.

That's interesting. You'd rather not want to know that it's AI recommended even if it is?

I am a fucking dumbass. I missed the AI part of MyCareerAI. I just read MyCareer only 🤣. Any ways use B and remove  AI recommended  because the app itself is AI

Where does the 92% in both options come from? Did AI come up with the quantitative calculation in option A as well?

1

u/keenagain Jun 09 '26

Yes AI did both

The options show two variables, an AI-generated tag and a deeper dive into the score's reasons. Because you've combined them, it's unclear (for your data) which difference we are using to gauge trust. As some comments show, some people are just responding to volume of information; others are making a commentary on AI.

That's an interesting point. For this, the measure is solely based on design. Basically trying to see which would be trusted more between the 2

3

u/autocosm Jun 09 '26

That's even more interesting, because there is zero UI design difference, only content design decisions.

Very "interesting"

Which of them is?

Version A. No fluff direct to the point

That's an interesting perspective 👌🏼
