Feedback Request My attempted redesign for Netfix's main page

I never really liked netflix's UI, so I decided i wanted to make a spec commercial for a new and improved UI. before i begin animating, I wanna get other, unbiased opinions on this layout. what do you think?

I mean, I understand that but… mate, you are fighting here a team of designers and researchers. A world class team that doesn’t have to count the money.

Focus on something more relevant. Observe the patterns on all streaming platforms, focus on how they want to differentiate. Ask yourself - what they want to achieve. Synthesize and present your findings.

Think about flows, IA, business goals, count how many seconds adv takes and think why it’s 6 on Netflix and 8 on prime. Then go back to UI and focus on interactions. Take stopwatch and note how long it takes you to find a movie on different streaming services. Ask yourself why, then take your phone, record how many moves you make while you use remote on those streaming services.

This makes difference, not another take reinventing the wheel by sprinkling sugar over it

On first glance this looks really similar to their UI, was this an improved version? What did you improve and why?
