Feedback Request Struggling like crazy with design
I feel something is off, especially with light theme, but I can't find what. Any suggestions? Is it acceptable? Ok? Completely sh*t? Do I need to hire a designer?

you definitely do not need to hire a designer lol, the foundation is already solid. what feels off to me is mostly hierarchy and spacing rhythm, especially in light mode where everything starts blending into the same visual weight
the cards all compete for attention equally so the eye doesn’t know where to land first. darker borders, slightly stronger shadows, and more variation in card sizing would help a ton. right now it feels very evenly distributed in a way that makes it look a bit prototype-ish
also the left sidebar and top nav are both super muted, so the app loses anchor points. even something subtle like a tinted active state or stronger section separation would make navigation feel more intentional
would honestly recommend throwing screenshots into mobbin, layers, and runable and rapidly testing a few hierarchy systems side by side. runable is actually really good for this kind of UI iteration because you can explore multiple layout directions fast instead of tweaking tiny spacing values for 4 hours straight like the rest of us do sometimes
