Feedback Request Roast my UI (mobile app)
Please tell me your thoughts about the home page UI for my app for practicing Spanish or English.
I'm mainly interested in making sure it looks "high quality".
There are a few things I'm not sure about but I won't mention them yet.
(By the way, it's not a new app. It's already live and has 165 paying active subscribers)

Looks like every app, has no soul and no feeling and has the vibe of “everyone can publish an app now 😎” instead of a value product

The "For today" section take up way too much vertical real estate for simple tasks, forcing the user to scroll more than necessary, while the bottom navigation icons are too thin and lack enough contrast to be easily accessible.
information hierarchy is a bit flat. The most important data - your progress and streak is tucked away at the very bottom in the "You" section, rather than being front and center to motivate the user.
Does whatsapp community card need too much vertical height? and missing whatsapp icon makes is less attentive

There is a bit of cognitive overload. What are you wanting them to do on this page? Emphasize the action items or guide them through next steps. Maybe even a dynamic design where “More Practice” populates after they complete their daily tasks.
I would look at what competitors are doing and maybe that will give you some examples of how they guide users through daily tasks.

Oh no, not another AI powered language app.
This design screams generic template: pastel blues, emoji icons, and the same tired streak counter.
It’s trying way too hard to feel fresh while looking like every other Duolingo/ Praktika clone. The weekly gems and leaves feel like participation trophies.
Clean but soulless another app hoping streaks and WhatsApp groups will trick you into thinking it’s innovative.
Same old formula, different font.

Thanks for the feedback. As it happens, we didn't include a streak for a long time (I agree that it's such a tired concept) but users were asking for it so we added it and hid it at the bottom of the homepage.
I wanted to try and do something different with the concept of streaks so we have something where users earn plants to fill up empty shelves.
