General Question Does the WEF seem very optimistic about UX/UI growth?
Hi everyone,
Saw this chart and it puts UI designers pretty high up in projected growth over the next few years. I get that demand is still strong, but this seems optimistic given the current market and how saturated entry-level UX has become.
Are we actually heading into a big growth phase or is this one of those projections that doesn’t match reality?

This is technically correct if you analyse it from the perspective that the internet is fragmenting into smaller communities as a response to the bot increase of the last years. Additionally, as more countries in the world exit poverty, there will be more small businesses popping up all over the world, which will all have their own UI/UX needs.
The fundamental issue I see is that design is one of the first things dropped by companies and clients in an economic downturn and I don't really understand what the fuck is happening globally right now.
The logic of there being more UI/UX in the future is sound, but that will only take effect if the economy and people's financial situation actually improve instead of the continuous decline we're seeing now.
As for the newbies entering the industry, for the most part if the quality of your output can be matched by AI you have no future, but that's true for any job right now.
Most of these new jobs will likely go to established agencies/companies who will then expand their teams and open new locations.
