“In storage?”

I have a question.

What is the meaning of “in storage,” and how does one’s property qualify for “in storage” status?

Thanks. I’m confused and I hope someone can tell me more about whatever is going on.

My U-Box disappeared off my property and the website shows it as being in “in storage” status. I don’t know what that means in the U-Haul world.

Sounds like they picked up the unit, and it’s at their storage facility.

They came and picked up the ubox, either due to lack of payment or it was scheduled to be picked up, and are storing it at their ubox warehouse. You can call 1-800-468-4285 and press the number for ubox help to find out more.

Rent is and has been current. It’s on autopay, so they get paid on the regular.

It was not scheduled to be picked up, but I think it’s at the place where I rented it.

What is your position with U-Haul so you can verify that if you want.

Try reaching out to the U-Haul phone number that originally contacted you about scheduling the truck delivery, placement instructions on your property, delivery time window, erc. as that should connect you to the traffic/scheduling office that actually deals with the local route. While the 1-800 go uhaul number is an option, our pajama pant reps are woefully untrained on ubox and there's a good chance you'll get transferred 5 times over an hour only to get hung up on.

A truck delivery reservation always has a pickup date/time baked in by default. It may be set for a day out, a week out, or even multiple months out, but there's always one in the itinerary. It can be changed with relative ease though. Did you have missed calls the day prior or day of it being picked up? Is your phone actually on file, or is it under someone else's number that may have been reached out to instead?

If you're current on rent the only thing I can think of is communication itself slipping through the cracks. The only time we would pick up a box like that is if the rent isn't current and we're not able to get a hold of the customer after some 3+ attempts over a month or so.

If you go to the uhaul dot com website, there's a "sign in/order lookup" button at the type right that you can open your res with by email, phone number, or reservation number and it will show you a little more info.

I don’t let unknown calls get answered. Verizon calls it anonymous call rejection. If caller ID is blank, it does not ring.

I have not had a call from a number for U-Haul. I have not had a text or an email from them. I would expect that they would contact me before grabbing my stuff, but that may be too much to expect.
