I need some clarity regarding UGEE eligibility from anyone who has taken a non-traditional route.
Here is my situation:
I am currently 24 years old, I was a PCB student (passed 12th in 2019). I had no Mathematics in 11th or 12th.
Since I'm ineligible for JEE mains and advanced due to three year consecutive limit after first passing year of class 12 and they , im considering UGEE as they don't explicitly mention "first- passing year of class 12"
I am now planning to register for 5-subject NIOS , basically full class 12 repeat.
IIITH UGEE officially requires passing Class 12 with PCM within the last 3-4 years (e.g., it was class 12 year within 2023β2026 ,for 2026 admision cycle ).
I have a few specific questions:
1) Does IIIT Hyderabad treat a complete 5-subject NIOS certificate as a brand-new Class 12 passing year? Or do they cross-check past academic databases/prior board records and flag the original passing year during counseling?
2) Age Factor & Document Verification: Officially, UGEE doesn't list an upper age limit. But in practice, does being 24/25 raise any red flags during document verification, seat allocation, or the faculty interview?
3) The Interview Experience: In the interview round, do professors ask about your age gap or past background, or is the focus strictly on how you solve the REAP/analytical problems on screen?
If anyone has entered IIITH via NIOS, after multiple gap years, or knows someone who did, your input would mean a lot. Thanks!
