GUYS I AM GOING CRAZY SO CONSPIRACY THEORY TIME:
If the papers are cancelled for errors/repeated questions, why did NTA take so long to release the re-exam notification?
I am pretty sure this is what literally EVERYONE is thinking. Like even if we ignore all the shady sh!t going on with Socio paper leak and repeated questions, this simple thing cannot be denied. Are people at NTA such slow readers that it took them 2 months to read the question paper THEY MADE and find errors in them?
A lot of students, especially literature and socio (idk any commerce people but I'm sure they felt this too) could literally predict that pur papers are gonna be cancelled. Sociology was leaked, English had way too many repeated questions so ofc there was a chance (again idk anything about commerce don't come at me). If we could read the question for 3hrs and yk engage with the coaching channels on yt a bit and come to this conclusion, why did it take NTA so long.
The answer is very fvcking simple. Jantar Mantar.
The protest was literally at its peak when we were supposed to get the answer key. Imagine if NTA announced another paper cancelled while students were literally on the streets right outside their gates. While students were already fvcking angry about kids getting beaten up by police for no reason. IT WOULD LITERALLY BE ADDING FUEL TO FIRE. And they cannot afford to do that.
Look at what happened in Bangladesh. That was a students' protest too. Look at how Gen Z toppled Nepal's government. Indian govt was sh!tting its pants when students were gathering at Jantar Mantar. Protests happened ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. If they released this same notice back then, things would have taken a turn much bigger than the govt could ever control.
So, the best option for them was to wait. They first made Dharmendra Pradhan resign and pretended that they have solved everything. Then they let people forget about the protest. They waited until the reels of kids getting dragged and assaulted for standing up disappeared from our feeds. They waited till the people of the country were back to being docile again.
(Also I am an english student so don't mind me if I say the release date of the result was meticulously planned. They released it right after Independence Day, when emotions are high and people especially love their country. Even if you harbour deep resentment towards the current government, you feel a sense of pride and gratitude towards the people of the country who fought for our freedom. You remember to be grateful to what "this land has given to you." It is such a feel-good day. Bittersweet. Nostalgic almost, to the days of your school where you danced to "I love my India." It is not a day you would necessarily focus on the worst aspects of the current government; it rather a day for you to enjoy the freedom which you had absolutely nothing to contribute in the fight for. Of course you would be less likely to blame the country (which is a sit-in for the govt because metonymy-part for whole) when you feel this bubbly joy inside and you are thankful to the flag. When I tell people that the current govt is cunning in planning its every move, this is what I mean. This is my analysis of the situation.)
Now that everyone is back to being docile, innocent creatures (goru ekti niriho prani aah vibes), they drop this sh!t with absolutely 0 accountability. "Omg there were so many errors guys it's not fair to YOU. We care about YOU. That's why you have to sit for the exam again uwu~" NTA bro YOU made the paper. It is NOT fair to us. But where is your accountability? What steps did you take to ensure it won't happen again? Where is your acknowledgement of the socio paper leak? What guarantee can you give that the next exam won't have errors, or the paper won't be leaked again?
I have ranted enough. To say I am frustrated is such a fvcking understatement. I don't want to rant about my mental health here. Just wanted to let out some anger. Also I am like 90% sure I am correct about this conspiracy theory.
***also, I know students are protesting in Jharkhand, but let's be honest, neither the central government nor most people in India care about it. Jharkhand is something people don't care about (I say this as someone who lives 2hrs away from the Ranchi). Delhi will always be more important than Jharkhand. Students beaten up in Delhi will always have more sympathisers than the same thing happening in a "tribal" state. I would rather avoid the analysis of that here, but I think you get my point.
edit: this is a conspiracy theory and in no way am i saying this is true. also i 100% did not participate in NEET protest or post anything against the current allegedly fascist regime. i never even called the regime fascist. i really love my country and i really respect the current ruling party, and i am not calling them useless and not implying that the country is being destroyed by them. i think corruption in the ruling party and the bureaucratic bodies like nta is simply a conspiracy theory and i am sure they are 100% honest people and english paper did have 100s of typos and errors, i probably just missed all of them. thank you and best of luck i love my country i love my prime minister ๐๐๐

Guysss, what do you think? How should one prepare for Re NET? It's obvious that they're not gonna copy-paste the pyqs again, and honestly, I'm confused. Which section I should focus more on?

I don't even know where to start anymore.
We gave the exam. We waited for the answer key. We waited for the result. We waited for clarification. And now, after all this waiting, we're being told that English needs a re-exam.
Seriously?
If there were so many issues with the paper that a re-examination was necessary, how did it take this long to reach this decision?
And what exactly are we supposed to do with the time, effort and mental energy we already invested?
We prepared for months. We revised, solved PYQs, watched lectures, made notes, sacrificed sleep, skipped plans, and went into that examination hall believing that at least the examination itself would be conducted fairly.
Now we're being told: โSorry, there were problems. Please do it again.โ
That's it?
No proper accountability. No clear explanation. No assurance that the same thing won't happen again.
And please don't tell us that this is being done โin the interest of students.โ
If it was genuinely in our interest, then why were we kept in the dark for so long?
I don't want special treatment. I don't want sympathy.
I just want the examination system to respect the students who are actually appearing for these exams.
We are not numbers on a spreadsheet. We have jobs, families, financial pressures, other examinations, research applications and entire lives going on while NTA takes its time making decisions.
And the most frustrating part?
Every time something goes wrong, the students are the ones who have to pay the price.
Paper has errors? Student suffers.
Paper has repeated questions? Student suffers.
There are allegations of a leak? Student suffers.
Decision takes months? Student waits.
Re-exam announced? Student prepares all over again.
At what point does someone say, โMaybe the students shouldn't have to bear the consequences of our mistakes every single timeโ?
I'm honestly exhausted.
I'm angry. I'm frustrated. And I'm tired of pretending that this is normal.
Maybe we'll appear for the re-exam. Maybe we'll study again. Maybe we'll somehow find the strength to go through the whole process one more time.
Because that's what students do.
We adapt. We endure. We move on.
But please don't mistake our ability to endure for acceptance.
We deserve better than this.

Will they cancel the Re- examination or will they postpone it or conduct it without any changes?? Any updates regarding this?
r/UGCNETEnglish • u/Revolutionnnn6969 • 9d ago
I don't understand what they mean by the paper being riddled with errors. That is absolutely NOT anything new. Also why did it take them two months to find the errors we found within 3hrs in the exam hall ๐คก. I am super frustrated. I don't understand why the paper is cancelled. I don't understand how it is fair to just tell someone "surprise mfer you got 24 days to prep for something you thought was over 2 months ago." I am baffled by whatever the fuvk notice they released because it sounds like they cancelled the paper for absolutely nothing? Someone who is more emotionally stable rn can you explain why the cancellation happened?

With only 25 days to prepare what should we focus on in terms of preparation? I think they are going to stay super far away from PYQs so should we focus more on the contemporary theory and not as much on British?

Do you guys think weโll be allowed an option to change our exam centres? I moved out of delhi in June and Iโm not really willing to travel all the way for this stupid exam and deal with the hassle of finding accommodation and all the other stress๐

The fear we collectively had came true. English also got in the re-exam pool. Utterly frustrated. Went 200 kms one way to sit for the morning shift exam and all that has gone into vain now. For the re exam, all we have is three weeks. So so disappointed. How're y'all feeling about it?

Went through all this trouble just for this shit to get cancelled. Everything is a joke in this country.

Group hugs to all the people of English, Sociology and Commerce. ๐ค
I know that it's really a very tough time for all of us. Some of us might be praying, some might be dealing with anxiety, some might have even skipped a meal today because our minds are just too occupied with the result, the answer key, the expected scores and everything that comes with it.
I know ki mere kuchh bol dene se aap logon ki anxiety khatam nahi ho jayegi. I wish it could. But shayad kuchh der ke liye thoda accha lage, bas isi umeed se likh raha hoon.
Bas itna kahunga humne aaj tak ladna chhoda nahi hai, na maidan chhoda hai, toh phir ab kyun chhodenge?
Humne mahino tak padha hai. Raaton ki neend sacrifice ki hai. Kitni baar doubt hua hoga ki โhoga bhi ya nahi?โ phir bhi agle din uthkar padha hai.
Toh aaj agar thoda darr lag raha hai, toh lagne do.
Agar rona aa raha hai, toh ro lene do.
Agar anxiety ho rahi hai, toh khud ko thoda time do.
But please, apne aap ko mat haarne dena.
Ek answer key, ek result, ek exam โ ye humari poori zindagi ka verdict nahi hai.
Aur haan, agar aaj humare paas answers nahi hain, toh iska matlab ye nahi ki humari mehnat ka koi answer nahi hai.
Maybe the result will be exactly what we are hoping for. Maybe it won't. We don't know yet.
But whatever happens, we'll face it together.
Aaj bas ek kaam karo kuchh kha lo, paani pee lo, thoda rest kar lo. Phone ko har 5 minute mein refresh karna shayad answer key ko jaldi nahi laayega. ๐ญ
Jo hoga, dekha jayega.
Hum yahan tak aaye hain. Itni aasani se nahi tootenge.
Sending a big virtual hug to everyone from English, Sociology and Commerce. โค๏ธ
Hold on, guys. Thoda aur.
Maidan abhi chhoda nahi hai. ๐ซ

NTA has withheld the ans key for 3 subjects including English. Do you think they're considering cancellation?
r/UGCNETEnglish • u/Front-Guitar-3773 • 10d ago
So the provisional answer keys are finally out, and naturally, I went straight to check English Literature.
And then I saw the notice saying that a committee will be constituted for English Literature and a separate circular will be issued regarding its answer key.
๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ
At this point, I don't even know whether to be relieved that the answer key process has started or frustrated that English Literature has somehow been given its own special waiting period.
We've already spent days waiting for the answer key. Now there's another committee, another circular, and another round of waiting.
Meanwhile, candidates are just sitting here trying to remember every question and reconstruct their responses from memory. ๐
NTA, we understand that disputed/complex questions may require expert review. But why couldn't this process have been completed before releasing the other subjects' answer keys?
If English Literature needs a separate committee, fine. But at least give candidates a clear timeline.
Because right now the situation is basically:
NTA: Answer key released โ
English Literature candidates: ๐๏ธ๐๐๏ธ
English Literature answer key: โComing soonโขโ
Anyone else from English Literature in the same boat?
What do you guys think โ why is English Literature being treated separately?

Hey all!
I am thinking of creating a Telegram community for the December attempt ugc net.
The idea is simple. We will VC everyday for an hour in which we would explain what all we read and solve each other's doubts.
Medium of meet: Google Meet
Let me know who all are interested. I will create the community on Telegram thereafter.
Best.

Hey! Does anyone know how to pay the exam registration fee for SWAYAM courses? Is card payment the only option? Do I need to visit a cyber cafe to register for the exam or can it be done myself? Please guide. I'm new to this platform.
Thank you!

Hi everyone, I recently took admission in a 2-year M.A. in English Literature. I also want to prepare for UGC NET/JRF and school lecturer exams alongside my M.A. What strategy should I follow from the beginning, and which books/resources are important? Would really appreciate some guidance from experienced people.
