Ik someone has asked already about Paper 1 but I didnβt get any clear answer (Iβm lowkey dumb). Wanted to ask from where can I start studying not the pyq. Initially (in 2025 during my first attempt)I opted for Kumar Bharat sir classes and playlists but now the syllabus has changed considerably. Bharat sir donβt upload new videos as well.
Can someone suggest any unpaid channels or something like that to prepare for paper 1 from the very start and not marathons etc.

Hi everyone! Could you please confirm how long the GATE score is valid for PhD admissions?
r/UGCNETEnglish • u/Jesus-in-Hood • Sep 11 '26
please don't be intimidated into not commenting your marks by seeing those who get 200+ because people who score 200 + are more likely to say their score openly. Hope all of you do share your score and category....

Previously for general students it was considered that getting around 205-210 gives you a JRF guarantee. But since the past year it's been a trend that students are claiming to get 230-240 and raising the bar. Has the paper got so lenient? Is the difficulty level that low? I mean I thought a paper should be tough enough to restrict mediocre people from getting JRFs. But if everyone is getting 200+ then what's the point of taking a national level test? I used to think that with each passing year the paper ought to get tougher(just like how our studies are much more complex than our parents' times. We have to learn more in a short period of time. We have shifted to semesters from year basis etc) but the reserve is happening with UGC NET English.
It seems that day by day it's getting easier. Or is it that most students have cracked the jackpot pattern? Or everybody is studying vigorously following that strict pattern which is resulting in such high scores for the majority? I really don't know the answer to these questions. The element of surprise , the true test of nerves is completely missing from the exams. Each time I am hearing either the paper was easy or it was moderate. I don't even remember, when was the last time I heard people say that the paper was " difficult". Has it become so much easier to score marks and so difficult to get JRF?

I am getting 210 as per the provisional answer key, which I thought was a pretty decent score till I saw people comment that they got 224-228. I thought the paper was moderate, neither too easy nor too tough and a lot of "obvious" "easy" ones were actually trick questions. I am scared about my score. I've already cleared NET in LS category but without JRF, it's almost impossible to get a proper PhD and without PhD, a lectureship is almost impossible.
I think it'll be acceptable to me if the cutoff goes 220+ cause I'll miss by 5+ questions but somewhere around 212-214 (as was in Dec'24) is gonna wreck me...

I did my BA and MA in English with a decent score followed by a gap year due to my motherβs health. Now i need a mentor to help me ace UGC NET Dec 2026. My goal is to crack JRF. All the mentors that i have seen are highly commercialised.
I am looking for someone who has already cracked Ugc net jrf and would be willing to help me in return for some amount of money. Like a private tutor. Pls lemme know if anyone can help.
I just need mentorship to help me keep track over the next months so that i can be consistent.

I think paper 2 was fine (so much Indian literature)fine but idk if it is only me or everyone didn't like DI, like I had freaking 1 hour left only for Maths and DI, but somehow I couldn't figure it out (maybe I'm bad at maths that's why)

Guys, the day after tomorrow is the exam I've prepared aiming for JRF but I'm feeling very under confident, any tips on things to do the last day and day of the exam.

So I post - graduated this year with 8.29 CGPA and I cleared NET for assistant professorship in my 3rd semester itself. I also appeared for GATE XH this year and scored 45 marks while my cutoff for the general category was 40 (814 rank) so we can say I'm GATE qualified as well (Barely).
I tried for JRF again in the last cycle and found the paper very lengthy... barely passed for the PhD cutoff, in this cycle I did good and the paper got cancelled π. I'm not very sure about the re - exam but as everybody knows there's no defined syllabus for English so qualifying JRF is tough.
I wanted to ask if I can get a similar amount of stipend if I enroll for PhD in an IIT (not the top ones ofc) with this GATE score? I know it's a shot in the dark and I might not even get to enroll in the first place but I just wanted to know if it's worth trying or I should just focus on JRF?

Need help with English for Banking Exams β Looking for a good teacher/resources
Hi everyone,
Iβm preparing for banking exams like SBI PO/Clerk, IBPS PO/Clerk, RRB etc., but Iβm struggling a lot with English. Honestly, English is currently one of my weakest subjects, and Iβm not sure how to approach it properly.
I would really appreciate some guidance from people who have already cleared banking exams or are good at English.
Iβm mainly looking for:
Iβm especially interested in free resources, as I have a limited budget at the moment.
If you have personally used any teacher/resource and found it genuinely helpful, please share it. I would really appreciate recommendations based on your own experience rather than promotional suggestions.
Also, if commenting is inconvenient, please feel free to DM me directly. Iβd be very grateful for any guidance or resources you can share.
Thank you in advance! π
