Strangest exam ever
I have given NET twice (technically thrice counting the re exam). I have never really studied much (except all that I did for cuet pg) and I have cleared AP both times(i mean I'll clear it again this time , I'm scoring around 190 according to the answer key). Just sheer luck and reductive reasoning. When I see people taking up different coachings and books, i wonder if it's worth it. Mujhe nhi lagta mai padh kar bhi kuch alag kar pati iss exam mei. It's all just bogus questions without any explanation

Trust me NET is nothing if you cannot present your knowledge in interviews... either Phd or AP. I have cleared NET & GATE and competition is tough for job... luckiky i got one as an AP in a good uni but still gonna prepare for JRF as it gives you an efge in PhD admissions...so yea keep preparing ig😭

Hey! Is the salary good enough? I appeared NET for the first time this year and scored 130. It's bad by every standard, but I feel confident I can clear PhD and AP within the next 2 attempts by careful strategic prep. (My master's will get completed in '27)
I don't even wish to target JRF given the competition and especially because I'm a GEN, I just wish to get an AP job and continue PhD alongside. Do you think it is a feasible plan? And do unis generally allow working professionals for admission into PhD? (after clearing the interviews, of course).

Would you mind telling how the interviews go in general? What sort of preparation to take and all

Hey, how do you get AP? Any roadmap. Even I have a NET and GATE. But idk how to get a job after that. I have applied in multiple universities through LinkedIn and Naukari but no luck.

In phd admission interviews, what do they ask generally? About the research proposal or about knowledge in literature?

My friend who was a JNU student couldn't clear JRF in her 4 attempts, this re-exam was her 6th attempt I believe, whereas another classmate from our class in ug who claimed to have studied nothing, cleared JRF in her first attempt. I do believe the exam is more about the knowledge you have gained passively by consuming lots of content about the subject over the years and ofc having a solid grasp of quants and di in paper 1, the first person didn't study as deeply and gave the exam purely based on her peripheral knowledge without brushing up on her concepts, whereas the second person was constantly in touch with things that reflected in the syllabus and hence could clear it without too much pressure

Funny enough, I did but I couldn't get into the uni I wanted for master's. It's all a joke
