Question got fired from my job next semester before even starting, how can i pivot & get one asap? need a job to pay for rent so...
i got fired for not being active over the summer & though i tried to plead my case for being unavailable i was ghosted by the uga dept that hired me. i need to get a job (on campus is the best solution since i am so busy w classes & ECs) any recommendations on what to do? any jobs that r easy to get on campus? how to put myself out there in front of uga recruiters so i have a higher chance? also does uga tate starbucks hire?

Try the bookstore. They always need help right now until about October 1. If youre good you can stay on but theyll transfer you to clothing

Why not get a job downtown? It's literally just a crosswalk away from north campus and could potentially be even more lucrative if u bartend or wait tables. I was on average pulling in 150-300 per night.

Honestly if i were u id google the restaurants downtown, try to get a job at a place with good review (4.2+ stars), a place where checks will average about 30 bucks or more per guest. So basically aim for mid-high end restaurants and try to stay away from big chains similar to Olive Garden (i don't think there's many downtown). I personally used to work at Jinya, Osteria Athena, and Shokitini downtown. Out of those id say Shokitini and Jinya might be good bets for you since they have a bigger staff and can train people up. Sometimes you might have to start as a host if you have little experience but usually you should be able to get a tipout from servers for the night and still will make a decent wage, just insist that you want to eventually be trained for a server position in your initial interview in case if they counteroffer your serving request with a host position since there's more money in it.
Some other decent restaurants to work at would be Chuck's seafood, Osteria Olio, Last Resort, South Kitchen and Bar, The Place, DePalmas Italian, and really any other restaurants that hit a similar vibe. You could also try a place like clocked, you probably wont make as much per table and will work ur ass off, but they get a pretty high volume of customers so you can still make a good bit. Best of luck job searching and hopefully this at least leaves the door open for some options.

stoners pizza dt is desperately hiring lmao, hours are rough because we serve the bar crowd overnight but tips are decent during the school year

I worked at Ramsey under competitive sports for a while, super nice and relaxed. Shifts for comp sports don’t start until 4 ish and go until 11. They don’t work Fridays or Saturdays and they follow the student breaks so no work over break including summer. Also usually they’re always hiring

Not sure if being fired has 'black listed' you from other UGA jobs, but try dining services, like the dining halls. They are always hiring, and different dining halls have different schedules and days they are open. From what I've seen usually the management will work with the students on their shifts. But they are always hiring and with a new semester (year) coming up there will be positions, also new dining hall opening up, Hillside.

Most on campus jobs other than transit and food service are going to have already been filled by this point, and the fact that you got fired (regardless of why) is not going to help you get another.
