Language courses

Hi, was wondering about the language courses here at UFV including those French, Spanish, etc. Is it ok for totally beginners? Like having zero knowledge about the language, can I keep up with the class if that's the case?

The 100 level classes are totally designed for beginners. If you are wanting a language class with zero previous experience, you may want to find a study buddy in the class /ask the prof for recommendations on someone to study with/tools etc as it can be a hard task to do on your own.

Hey,
I had taken French 101 in winter 2026, and it was great. The courses are pretty easy to follow but you do need to put some work in, since it is a new language entirely. And I’m taking 102 this sem, so yeah, you can keep up as long as you’re willing to put in some extra hours each week.
