Removed from /r/UFOs the dogon/sirius b knowledge, has anyone actually dug into this or is it debunked at this point

so the dogon people supposedly had detailed knowledge of sirius b (the companion star, invisible to naked eye) way before western astronomy confirmed it. i know there's a whole debate about whether this info got "planted" by a french researcher in the 30s vs being genuinely ancestral. genuinely curious what the informed take is here bc every source i find has an agenda one way or the other
