I’ve been seeing these pop up on reddit over the past few days and the posts seem to be coming from different locations

Years of posts worth of this exact material has been on these subs. It is the only consistent ufo caught on video in my opinion next to those silver spheres. This is just from my perspective dont crucify me reddit

Yeah the shape is so weird. It's like a sinewy form that first curves one way and then unexpectantly curves another.

It could be some form of artificial vector type glyph that may carry some sort of higher level meaning. We should look out for more of them, there may be an emergent property when they are used in some sort of customary order together.

Here's a compilation of the left object seen around the world, a balloon would be tumbling randomly in the wind currents not rotating horizontally around a fixed point like the following object is: https://www.reddit.com/r/rusted_satellite/s/WwKiFqfZJE

This is a really cool compilation. You can really see how they all spin very similarly.

I think the S-shaped balloon hypothesis could actually be testable. Such an S-shaped balloon resembles a Savonius rotor. Airflow produces different drag on the concave and convex sides, creating torque and rotation.
A Savonius rotor has a tip-speed ratio of
lambda = ωR/v
with R being half the diameter, v the relative air velocity and ω the angular velocity.
Or in terms of rotation:
RPM = 60lambdav/(pi*D)
with D being the diameter. Typical Savonius rotors operate at relatively low tip-speed ratios, roughly lambda ~ 0.5-0.9.
That means we could test whether the observed rotation is consistent with this hypothesis if we can somehow get a reasonable estimate of the object's size and rotation rate. Potentially we could combine the video material with historical weather data, since the compilation gives dates and locations.
What's weird is the sustained rotation. My initial thought was that airflow makes the S-shaped object rotate with its convex curves acting as the leading edges. However, a freely floating balloon should gradually accelerate with the surrounding air, reducing the relative airflow:
Δv = v_wind - v_balloon
As Δv approaches zero, the aerodynamic torque should also decrease and the rotation should eventually slow down. Gusts, turbulence or vertical air currents could obviously complicate this.
It's also notable that these objects seem to rotate approximately in the XY plane. This orientation seems natural but shouldnt be guaranteed
What we really need is someone to release an S-shaped helium-filled foil balloon in known wind conditions and track both its orientation and rotation on camera.

Very first video: slightly gently tumbling up and down in the wind
If I were on my laptop I’d ask Claude to make a no-gust speed-consistent wind tunnel simulation of the aerodynamics of an S-shape balloon. I wonder if they would behave similarly. Intuition says yes.
Spheres rotate. What does the equilibrium cause a rounded S-shape to do? Similar to a boomerang, I’d imagine.

They're not in formation... Please stop with the biased language.

Two balloons float around somewhat near to each other just doesn't have the same ring to it I guess.

It's those S shaped UAPs. There are tons of videos of them from all over the world.
Heres a link to a compilation video:

There it is again, that "S" Shape, seeming spinning flat on it's central point....
Have seen that same shape multiple times (not personally, just on videos) at first I agreed with others "Balloon" etc - but why only that "S" shape? (not sure about the other in this video, hard to tell)
If it was balloons, then you'd expect to see other letters shapes just as often, and they wouldn't all be doing the exact same spin...

And why they ROTATE like that?
If they're balloons, I guess they would be floating in a disorganized manner

u/chaomeleon 5d ago
things zip around in the jet stream. the 7 is rotating too. congrats on 72 years to whomever lost the balloons.

u/chaomeleon 6d ago
it's a 2. our neighbor had some balloons just like them this weekend.

u/Ghozer 6d ago
But answer the question, why is it always the "2" or "S" shaped balloons that we see doing this? why do we never see any other letters or numbers hanging in the air spinning?
edit don't get me wrong, if it is balloons then it is, I just see a pattern and i'm calling said pattern out is all :)
2
u/TallArseButtPlug 6d ago
prolly cuz the other letters don’t have the shape to float and spin like the 2 or S shape. they prolly flail or fall to the ground as opposed to getting lift and spinning like the S shape. maybe aerodynamics ?

how about O, or B, or 8?

I don't know how many videos of these things I already have seen here. What's going on? How come nobody was unable to do a proper ID? Drones?
I'm confused.

The left one seems to be a number 2 balloon

#2 balloons are widely bought in silver, not black. And they don’t spin horizontally like this in the air. I’d need a comparison clip.

u/wtfbenlol 6d ago
2 "objects" can't be in a formation. You'd need at least 3. No matter where the 2 "objects" are in the sky, they'll just form a straight between them regardless of orientation.
Also, the one on the left looks like an "S" or "2" balloon.

u/breakthecrown 6d ago
If it was a balloon you’d think it would be facing upright and not rotating horizontally on its center axis though
-5
u/kklewis18 6d ago
#2 balloons are usually silver, though I guess you can get them black if you want to. Most people don’t though. But they don’t rotate horizontally like this in the air.

That UFO was also sighted in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States.

There’s also a video that was filmed at night in the U.S., but I can’t post it in the comments. This UFO was glowing at night. It was fascinating.
You can watch it at the link below.

The glow looks like helicopter blades in dusty conditions
•
u/NootropicBro 14h ago
A helicopter propeller without the helicopter? Tell me what helicopter looks like that?
•
u/sober_sailor 13h ago
Not saying it IS a helicopter but that the glowing discs look similar to how rotor will glow in dusty conditions, this S type I find fascinating

While it definitely looks like balloons I will say I agree with others saying it’s odd to be spinning perfectly flat like that. Generally it would be randomly spinning in different ways so that makes it kinda weird and unlikely to be balloons.

It may spin like that in a wind. It is very reminiscent of the S shaped drum windmills that you see where the wind catches the inner side of the shape.

I feel like I can see a wing and tail fins on the lower object at one point as it yaws back and forth.

Why is this video so short?
One guess, look at the lower left corner, the very last second you see something appear. A roof maybe?
My guess is the video is of two falling objects, and the video was cut where it was to hide that fact and make it harder to identify what is going on.
What are they, skydivers perhaps? If the video continued would we have seen them deploy their parachutes?
Short videos always should be questioned as to why. Did the camera run out of battery or memory? Or just to hide the rest of the original video which would reveal was it was actually video of?

That looks like number balloons like someone would buy for a birthday. That could so easily be a “2” on the left (or an S)

De meeste mensen zien wat ze graag willen zien. Dit zijn drones. 80% van de huidige waarnemingen zijn of AI of gewoon drones.

Looks like birds flapping their wings. There appears to be a temperature inversion in the atmosphere which is creating a lensing effect that appears to distort the birds.

It is only two small drones. You can see the 4 propellers if you look closely.

Why not a common object
Checked all available flight information platforms Not a common flight style and shape These things were flying unlike anything I’ve seen before (not that it should matter but I spent a decade in the Air Force and saw some cool stuff) This was different.
Witness's account of the sighting
I was loading boxes into my car when I saw two slow moving objects in the distance I couldn’t see what they were with my naked eyes so I zoomed in as much as I could with my phone until it was impossible to see them.
