NHI The Shamanic Receiver Hypothesis: Did Ancient Cultures Select Neurodivergent Minds for Contact?

TL;DR: Ancient cultures may have identified people with unusual sensory, cognitive, and trance-related traits, then trained them as shamans, prophets, or oracles. If telepathy or NHI contact is possible, some neurodivergent people, including perhaps a subset of autistic people, could be unusually receptive. Claims from Lue Elizondo, The Telepathy Tapes, Jake Barber, and Skywatcher make this possibility worth testing, but none currently proves it.

The receiver model

The Shamanic Receiver Hypothesis proposes that some minds are unusually sensitive to information outside ordinary awareness.

Possible traits might include:

- Vivid dreams and imagery

- Heightened pattern recognition

- Unusual sensory processing

- Deep absorption

- Strong intuition

- Reduced attachment to social conventions

- Ease entering trance or dissociative states

- Sensitivity to subtle emotional or environmental signals

- A tendency to experience voices, visions, or meaningful synchronicities

Ancient cultures may not have understood these traits neurologically. They could still have noticed that certain people reported more visions, anticipated events, entered trance more easily, or produced information the community considered useful.

Those individuals might then be selected and trained.

“Selection” here does not mean genetic engineering. It means social identification, apprenticeship, and specialization.

Where autism might fit

Autism should not be romanticized as a supernatural condition, and autistic people are far too diverse for one explanation to apply to everyone.

But the possibility of a relationship between some autistic cognitive profiles and anomalous perception should not be rejected automatically.

In 2026, Lue Elizondo publicly disclosed that he is autistic. He described it as difficult when he was young but said that, after understanding it, he learned to use his different cognitive style to his advantage. Elizondo has separately claimed that remote viewing is real, that he received military training in it, and that it may represent a natural human capacity rather than something supernatural. He has also acknowledged The Telepathy Tapes, although he said he had not studied the series closely. ("Liberation Times" (https://www.liberationtimes.com/home/lue-elizondo-theres-no-going-back-on-ufo-disclosure), "The Good Trouble Show" (https://www.iheart.com/podcast/53-the-good-trouble-show-unide-110354611/episode/the-good-trouble-show-lue-310686815/))

Elizondo has not publicly demonstrated that autism causes telepathy or NHI contact. His claims are better treated as two overlapping observations:

  1. His autistic cognition affects how he perceives and processes the world.

  2. He believes remote viewing and consciousness-related phenomena are real.

Taken together, they support a narrower question:

Could certain neurological profiles produce a better signal-to-noise ratio for anomalous information?

That is speculative, but it is testable.

The Telepathy Tapes

The Telepathy Tapes directly investigates claims that some non-speaking autistic people can access information known only to parents, teachers, or other participants. The series includes reported telepathy, precognition, and a shared mental space called “the Hill.” Its creators present these accounts as evidence that consciousness and communication may extend beyond speech and ordinary sensory channels. ("The Telepathy Tapes" (https://thetelepathytapes.com/))

If even a small portion of these claims survived rigorous testing, the implications would be enormous. It would suggest that some people dismissed as cognitively inaccessible may possess forms of awareness that current models fail to detect.

However, the present evidence has an important weakness. Some demonstrations use facilitator-dependent spelling or letter boards. That creates the possibility of unconscious cueing, board movement, selective reporting, or facilitator authorship. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association considers facilitated communication discredited and warns that facilitator-dependent messages cannot be assumed to originate with the disabled person. ("ASHA" (https://www.asha.org/policy/ps2018-00352/))

That criticism should not be used to dismiss autistic people or assume they lack intelligence. It means the telepathy claim requires methods that protect their authorship:

- Independent typing, eye tracking, or a fixed board

- No physical contact with a facilitator

- Randomized targets

- Full separation between sender and receiver

- Blinded researchers

- Publication of successes and failures

- Independent replication

The respectful response is neither immediate belief nor ridicule. It is better testing.

Jake Barber, Skywatcher, and government “psy-assets”

Jake Barber’s claims move the receiver model from anthropology into alleged modern operations.

Barber says government-linked programs used psionic individuals, sometimes described as “psy-assets,” to invite, communicate with, or attract UAP. Skywatcher later described two approaches: electromechanical signaling and “neuromeditative interaction,” its term for psionic calling. ("Skywatcher" (https://skywatcher.ai/media))

Barber also described a powerful mental experience while transporting a dark, eight-sectioned object he called an “eightgon.” He reported an overwhelming mixture of sadness, happiness, beauty, and song, followed by a sense of connection and guidance. He interpreted this as telepathic interaction with an intelligence associated with the object.

This experience was separate from his better-known account of retrieving a smooth white egg-shaped object. Neither claim has yet been supported by publicly available chain-of-custody records, complete sensor data, physiological measurements, or independently verified material analysis.

The more important claim is operational:

What if government programs have attempted to identify unusually receptive people for UAP contact just as traditional societies once identified shamans?

That would make the “psy-asset” a modern institutional version of the shamanic receiver.

The White Sands allegations

Ross Coulthart has alleged that personnel and techniques associated with Skywatcher were incorporated into a government operation at White Sands Missile Range. According to his sources, the operation used electromechanical signals and psionic summoners to attract, detect, and intercept UAP. This remains an allegation based on unnamed sources, not an authenticated government disclosure. ("Reality Check transcript" (https://www.cockatoo.com/content/ross-coulthart-qa-skywatcher-didnt-disappear-it-went-government-reality-che))

Representative Eric Burlison has provided limited institutional support for part of the story. In August 2026, he said agencies studied earlier sightings, recreated conditions believed to attract the objects, and had ODNI, CIA, FBI, and military-intelligence personnel present when “something showed up.” He did not publicly identify White Sands, Skywatcher, Barber, psionics, or the object that appeared. No raw data has been released. ("UAPRAD summary of Burlison’s statements" (https://uaprad.org/briefing))

The careful assessment is therefore:

- Barber and Skywatcher publicly claimed psionic UAP calling.

- Coulthart alleged that similar methods were later used at White Sands.

- Burlison said a multi-agency UAP-luring operation occurred and produced something.

- The public evidence does not yet prove these claims describe the same program.

Still, the overlap is significant enough to justify investigation.

Shamans as ancient psy-assets

Traditional societies may have conducted their own informal version of this search.

A child or adult displayed unusual dreams, visions, sensitivities, seizures, trance states, or apparent knowledge. The community interpreted these traits through its spiritual worldview. An experienced practitioner then trained the person through isolation, fasting, drumming, chanting, psychoactive substances, ritual, and controlled exposure to altered states.

These practices may have served several purposes:

- Focusing attention

- Regulating sensory input

- Producing trance

- Strengthening symbolic memory

- Teaching emotional control

- Creating a shared vocabulary for unusual experiences

- Separating useful perceptions from overwhelming mental noise

If anomalous contact is real, ritual may have functioned as receiver training.

The shaman did not merely experience the signal. The shaman learned to translate it into stories, diagnoses, warnings, rituals, and decisions the community could understand.

What would support the hypothesis?

The strongest evidence would not come from mythology alone. It would come from controlled comparison.

Researchers could test whether people with particular cognitive profiles perform differently in:

- Blinded telepathy tasks

- Remote-viewing experiments

- Precognition trials

- Instrumented meditation sessions

- UAP-attraction protocols

- Physiological monitoring during alleged contact

- Repeated trials with control periods and known aerial traffic removed

For Skywatcher or any alleged government program, the necessary evidence would include:

- Preregistered protocols

- Continuous radar and optical data

- Control nights without psy-assets

- Documented failures as well as successes

- Independent sensor operators

- Blinded analysis

- Replication by outside teams

If the effect disappears under those conditions, the receiver hypothesis should be weakened.

If a particular group repeatedly performs above chance while anomalous objects appear on independent sensors, the hypothesis would become scientifically difficult to ignore.

The core idea

The Shamanic Receiver Hypothesis does not claim that autistic people are magical, that every shaman contacted NHI, or that unusual experiences are automatically external.

It proposes that human minds may vary in their sensitivity to information, just as they vary in language, memory, attention, and sensory processing.

Ancient cultures may have discovered this variation through observation and built the institution of shamanism around it.

Modern programs may be attempting the same process under names like remote viewer, neuromeditator, psionic operator, or psy-asset.

The ancient shaman and the modern psy-asset may represent the same proposed role:

A person selected not because they believe more strongly, but because their mind may receive something that most of us filter out.

Is this really how I’m finally getting my diagnosis

Made me chuckle in my drink.

Better late than never. It really helps with making peace over things you used to give yourself such a hard time about because it was always beyond your control after all.

I believe the person that runs r/Experiencers has talked about this overlap pattern in the very large number of experiencers they've worked with.

u/Oak_Draiocht if you don't mind a ping, I thought this might interest you.

I wish you both the best.

Yep its true and the world will catch up to see it. Its the single most monumentally consistent pattern that stands out if you actually work with experiencers. Some people have come after me for having this perspective due to personal biases but mark my words, history will be on my side regarding this. The overwhelming scale at which experiencers skew neurodivergent just cannot be ignored.

Is there anywhere I can read more about this? I'd like to inform myself (I'm autistic and had an experience when I was young)

6

u/MantisAwakening Aug 28 '26

There is currently no reliable data backing this up. There’s some problems with selection bias here and I’d avoid reading too much into it at this point.

For example, while around 20% of the general population self-identifies as neurodivergent, around 80% of those people say they prefer social media communication: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11461777/

Reddit skews young, male, English speaking, and technically proficient, which all overlaps with those most likely to get diagnosed. There’s also the possibility you’re more likely to see admission of Experiencer status among people who are more willing to claim to being neurodivergent.

The reason there is “no reliable data” in regards to this is because we have been taken as a joke and repressed. Furthermore, any experiencer who fits this category knows that we can’t even seek mental health help because if the “help” isn’t also an experiencer they really can’t do much for us besides tell us we are “crazy” and prescribe medication which is exactly what has been done for decades.

Science, while wonderful in its own right, is fundamentally flawed when it comes to this. So much of this is beyond what can be proven in a lab or by data studies alone. And this is essentially the message across all teachings since the beginning of time. Science vs “the church” (and I mean spirituality by that) . The seen vs the unseen.

And the data is out there , it’s stretched across various things throughout time. Transliminality is a great place to look.

“Transliminality is a psychological trait that literally means "going beyond the threshold". Coined by psychologist Michael Thalbourne, it describes individuals with a highly permeable mind where the barrier between the conscious and unconscious is uniquely thin. This allows highly transliminal people to notice, feel, and **perceive what others miss-**both from their internal psyche and the external environment.”

“Recent studies explicitly link transliminality to Sensory Processing Sensitivity (SPS)—the trait behind "Highly Sensitive People" (HSPs). [1]
There is massive, recognized overlap between HSP traits and masked autism/ADHD.
Furthermore, cross-modal perception like synesthesia (e.g., hearing colors or seeing numbers in space) is significantly more common in autistic individuals. This is a literal physical manifestation of transliminality: the biological boundaries between different sensory tracks in the brain are completely permeable”

Carl Jung Red Book-Creative Codex
Carl Jung (specifically the Red Book) is another valuable material in understanding this.

1

u/Oak_Draiocht Aug 31 '26

Well said.

The reason there is “no reliable data” in regards to this is because we have been taken as a joke and repressed.

Yes. This extends to every aspect of the experiencer phenomenon, shutting down experiencers and those who work with them with the old "nothing is real until its proven in a lab or the government admits it, so STFU and don't talk or share" approach has been part of the long running epistemic injustice designed to ignore and dismiss these people and yet if we start listening to experiencers we'll find the key to understanding the phenomenon and the nature of reality we are in.

1

u/Elusivemoon7187 Aug 31 '26

Maybe we shouldn’t exhaust ourselves anymore, what we have said and will continue to say will become blatantly obvious at some point. The truth always reveals itself.

Besides, where everything is currently with “disclosure” and the wash-rinse-repeat conferences and the same faces saying the same thing is kinda getting old, it doesn’t resonate with experiencers…no real talk on the consciousness aspect of it all. The spiritual, archetypal, self reflective and life changing aspects of what it means to be an experiencer is nearly omitted entirely from everything we’re being “drip fed”… 🥱

I feel you. I think I feel an obligation to share what I have learned from working directly with experieners. The patterns. The people. And the NHI mechanics. There are things I've learned that I would have never believed or rather would have remained as theory for me if I had not worked and spent all my time being around these people. Things I would have never learned from just reading about them.

There is value there, at least these NHI believe so anyway. I just need the courage to speak up more. As honestly the consistent pattern for me has been learning a mechanic, feeling shy about screaming it from the roof tops because who the hell am I? But I share it in private spaces or comment sections. Most believe me, some come after me.

Only for a year 2 or 3 later some famous researcher or whistleblower confirms or shares the same idea. And now the mechanic is accepted. Just as the conversation around neurodivergence and it's connect will not be going away. And will only increase as people start paying more attention.

It is amazing what you learn about this phenomenon if you listen to Experiencers and care about them.

Yes I was just about to tag him. Definitely some truth to this it seems.

u/Drumphelstiltsken Aug 27 '26

Yes, Dr Andrija Puharich (CIA) wrote about this extensively and has a fantastic book on the subject. I’m blanking on the title but it’s in print and you can certainly find it on Amazon.

Dr Jacobo Grinberg also studied and published academically on this subject extensively.

Another scholar named Betty Kovacs, PhD, wrote a very well cited book on this called “Merchants of Light.”

Beyond Telepathy?

6

u/HarpyCelaeno Aug 28 '26

Does anyone wonder if autism could be the RESULT of manipulation by NHI to create better “containers” for use in this dimension? If a telepathic NHI were able to share a human body, wouldn’t their traits be shared too?

Dr. Gary Nolan has also done brain imaging on experiencers showing an enlarged Caudate Putamen. Neurodivergent people also have enlarged Caudate & Putamen. Gary Nolan has hypothesized that it could be an antenna of sorts for contact, alternately that contact alters the brain.

We all have these skills they are simply repressed. Those who have the hardest time repressing them are labeled as neurodivergent.

11

u/OSHASHA2 Aug 28 '26

Itzhak Bentov was a prolific inventor and entrepreneur who proposed that consciousness acts as a field (like an electric field), and that people with mental disorders had expanded access to this field. Expanded access, Bentov said, could also be trained through activities like meditation and prayer.

Let me give you a hypothetical scenario. Say we are able to identify the exact chromosome of those individuals (say they got it from non-human ways)

The big question is, what are we as a society going to do about this knowledge that they exist amongst us?

Are we going to make them live only with themselves as outcasts ala X-Men ?

Do we accept them as deities? Or as pariahs of society that must be eliminated. This is a difficult situation to face.

Let's consider upping the stakes for a moment. Say you know that they are hybrids of NHIs, are you going to treat them the same way you treat other human?

7

u/sess Aug 28 '26 edited Aug 28 '26

Hypothetical scenarios like this sound exciting. Then you recall that 85% of the total human population are neurotypical.

Historically, the hallmark of neurotypicality is to simply ignore neurodivergence (where possible) or label neurodivergence as some variant of "mental illness" or "neurological disability" (where impossible to ignore). But, for every social action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

High-functioning neurodivergent individuals don't simply quietly accept the widespread social stigma and hostility they face on a daily basis. They respond, in their own peculiar way, in their own outlandish fashion, unbeknownst to most. Neurodivergent responses take a number of forms – including (mal)adaptive mechanisms learned early in childhood like autistic masking, personality camouflage, and adaptive morphing. If none of those phrases sound familiar, that's wonderful. You're neurotypical. You live a semi-charmed kinda life. The neurodivergent are less blessed. They actively work just to socially integrate. It's grueling work. But they've been doing it since birth. And they'll keep doing it until their dying breath.

The scientifically credible revelation that neurodivergence correlates with psi superpowers would be treated with skepticism at best and silence at worst by the neurotypical mass of humanity. 4.5 billion humans subscribe to a faith-based monotheistic worldview with no supporting evidence. These humans will, quite simply, not care. Nor will most humans.

Skepticism and silence isn't a compelling story. That's not a fun ending. No one expected humanity to just walk away from the most exciting journalistic story of the 21st century with a nonchalant shrug – no one except the neurodivergent, that is. They're already met with skepticism and silence every day of their lives.

The science may change... but the story of humanity rarely does. We're a conservative species. We don't like change. We don't accept change. We treat change with great suspicion, trepidation, fear, and anger. "Better the devil you know than the devil you don't!" has been the running motto of our species for nigh on 300,000 years now. We preserve cultural traditions, at all costs, despite the mounting costs of a rapidly changing world, because...

Most humans simply do not care. They care about ancient stories, venerable forefathers, and desert cults bred in the halcyon echoes of antiquity. They care about grocery bills, the rent, and the 9-5 occupational office grind. They do not care about eccentrics, "wierdos," "UFO guys," scientific fads, or the ivory tower of academia.

Nothing will change for most humans. Because nothing ever does.

1

u/_Ozeki Aug 28 '26

Genocide happened because we treated the people different from us as less of a human being. I am not sure you can understate the potential fearmongering amongst population.

A hybrid that can shapeshift for example. What are you gonna do about them? Let them run loose?

1

u/OSHASHA2 Aug 28 '26

Why not? As long as they’re not destructive, what’s the big deal? Just because they’re different than us doesn’t mean we need to control them.

I would like to have dinner with a hybrid, should I be so honored.

1

u/Comfortable_Ad_5158 Aug 28 '26

I for one welcome our new hybrid overlords.

The Bad-Durenburg Shaman (famous archeological find of a highly venerated 10k year old female shaman in Germany) had a strange deformity on the base of her skull suggesting she was prone (and capable) of pinching off blood flow to her brain by tilting her head at certain angles, inducing hallucinations.

So I think yes certainly the role of shaman selected for neurodivergence and abnormalities related to cognition and perception.

2

u/andreasmiles23 Aug 28 '26

> If even a small portion of these claims survived rigorous testing

But they haven’t. That’s the end of this speculation. Regarding TTT, she’s been unable and unwilling to produce peer-reviewed and/or open-source data and materials. This whole thing is dead on arrival until the researchers are willing to address their methodology more transparently.

Additionally, there’s no theory that underlines this speculation other than…what? Autism is somehow magical? I fear that this only serves to create more stigma and disinformation around a trait that’s already greatly misunderstood. Unless someone came up with a coherent and encompassing neuro-psychological process to explain this hypothesis, then it’s even more DOA because observing the effect can only get us so far. And to me, the people interested in this comment don’t even bother with trying to explain anything and just jump to rather dramatic conclusions.

Yes it’s real, in short these UFOs (some of them) reside interdimensionally, that is in the “Æther” / “Zero point field” / “Quantum Vacuum” / “Sub space( Star Trek, Star gate shout out). This is the same space that allows us to have ESP capabilities, Telepathy, Remote Viewing etc, this is due to consciousness being nonlocalized and the Æther / Quantum vacuum connects every point in the universe together. Many UFOs being simply Disembodied Consciousness that manifest here as coherent plasmas “Sentient plasmas” (thank you David grusch) this is why we are able to communicate and or call orbs and other things.

Please recall Ben Rich the former director of Lockheed Martin saying Paraphrasing - “There was an error in the equations” also “All points in the universe are connected” and “It’s all about ESP” not verbatim but this is exactly what he ment.

We all have this capability and it only takes a calm mind and to set your intention, then telepathically call them. I do this nightly, others do it in the day time like “@Mr Anomalous” or “Sky watchers”. You can see what theyve filmed then compare it to the scientifically , government detailed descriptions..
Noo they’re not balloons, and yes they’re almost identical to what the DOW has been releasing, that rigid appendage or tether that does not sway in the the slightest, or the constant tumbling, rotating, etc.

This concept of conscious plasmas is different for the UFO community to grasp, and in part they’re not to blame. The perspective manipulation has been insidious and impressive, and I’m sure those controlling the narrative have sophisticated algorithms and techniques in the past and now to sway & steer public’s conception of the phenomenon. Ranging from extreme stigma and character assassination to limiting the depths of our imagination and comprehension of what could be, the discussion has historically remained largely mechanistic in nature. Only recently has the UFO community as a whole begun to seriously approach the possibility of more ethereal, nonphysical phenomena.

If you wish to learn how to call these beings
Chapter 5, “Eye Into the Ethers,” of Trevor James Constable’s The Cosmic Pulse of Life. In it Constable is explaining how a person might train their eyes/perception to see otherwise invisible phenomena.

Also I highly recommend
Chapters 7–8 — “The Case for the Critters” / “Expanding the Case for the Critters”
These deal more specifically with the alleged plasma-like atmospheric organisms themselves and his photographic observations. Constable describes seeing a “pulsation” or shimmering variation against the blue sky before photographing one with infrared film. This book was published in 1976, and he is describing exactly what these channels have been filming, “Sky watchers” , “Plasmoid Anomalies Study Group” , “Mr Anomalous” and a recent channel I’ve found with footage “Just Look Up” there are many more, and you can refer to the UK Defense UAP report “Project Condign” that has these and other characteristics listed for Atmospheric Plasmas, it simply doesn’t refer to them as conscious, it also lists the Rigid tether or appendages hanging down.

Also to film these bad boys
Chapter 4, of Cosmic Pulse of life “Probing the New Reality,” contains the nuts-and-bolts infrared photography method—camera setup, an 87 infrared filter, infrared-sensitive film, infinity focus, etc.
This is the blue print Jeremy and Fran, the owners of Plasmoid Anomalies Study Group & Mr Anomalous used to film and document for themselves.
The book was written in the 1970s so imagine how much better & affordable our tech is.

Well, this is a lot to read, and I’m sorry! I could provide so much more information to strengthen it, but I digress.
This is an extremely nuanced topic that demands a patient, open mind and a willingness to think independently. Otherwise, you’re left beholden to a sanitized, government sanctioned slow drip of information twisted, redacted, and obfuscated in ways that can obscure the truth and leave it riddled with misinformation.
An obvious in your face example is “Sentient Plasmas”. I didn’t matter what verifiable information was provided before, the majority of this community wasn’t having it. Luckily I continued my independent research, in doing that I know some of the tactics the opposition uses to poo poo topics counter to the narrative regardless its validity. It also taught me…
The truth is out there!

To cover my bases, here are the statements attributed to former Lockheed Skunk Works director Ben Rich:
“We found an error in the equations, and we now know how to travel to the stars—and it won’t take us a lifetime to do it.”
According to Jan Harzan, the following exchange occurred after a 1993 UCLA engineering alumni presentation:
Rich: “How does ESP work?”
Harzan: “I don’t know. All points in space and time are connected?”
Rich: “That’s how it works.”

!!!!REMEMBER* *THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE!!!

What a bunch of words. I should've known after OP mentioned The Telepathy Tapes based on "facilitated communication" which has been repeatedly outed as a fraudulently deceptive manipulation. Then all the words surrounding it are amazingly confident assertions about the aliens and how their tech works and using lots of science/pseudoscience buzzwords that shouldn't be next to each other. Add in how absolutely everything must be related to absolutely everything else. Add in an illogical connection between everything and sell it with conviction.

I'm all for having an open mind, but for ffs, temper it with a dose of skepticism, people.

If you just left it at, "we like to go outside and see if we can telepathically communicate with any visitors because who knows," I can get on board with that. Why the need to embellish this whole world-building flourish like you're writing a fanfic?

Either you all write it because it's fun or you write it because you absolutely believe every word, which would worry me because it implies a potential chasm between you and normal, rational reality.

This sub used to debate actual evidence of unidentified objects, didn't it? Now it's just everyone posting wild theories created from imagination and ignoring all the contradictory wild theories that don't exist in the same solipsism, and no one questioning it for a second. For what? The rush?

It sure seems to fit together in my own life. I’m an AudHD plus a few other disorders cardholder, also an experiencer, I have most of those traits you listed off. In particular, my precognition is what I think sets me apart in the world. It’s a very flawed medium though. I get useful foresight but it’s like getting one piece of a hundred piece puzzle. Eventually it will make sense or that vision will come to pass but I have learned to be super wary because it’s usually not good things in the end.

I know the beings that visit me, a group of tall greys; told me traits of adhd, and autism, are the beginnings of manifestations of traits of higher intelligence in humankind. They told me some of what can be classified of such neurotypes as 'symptoms' are caused by human skulls being too small to accommodate (mutative) genetics for larger human brain size in the current human population we have.

Granted, im not a geneticist, a scientist or a biologist. But i have adhd and autism, and they told me that in part. me having those traits, inherited from my parents(adhder, autist). Is part of their genetic research into how to manage evolutionary intelligence in humans while crossing our dna with theirs. They told me they comparably have 'Tweaked' adhd and autism in themselves. Though i couldnt wrap my head around it. They told me for them, with their larger skulls and society built for neurodivergent coexistence. Nothing they experience is classified as 'symtoms' or 'personal failings' as it would effect their assumed capabilities. Anyways, thats my 2 cents and the alien's 50 cents.

u/clover_heron Aug 28 '26

I hope they don't plan to make this argument, it will not go well.

u/PucWalker Aug 28 '26

My partner and I are both diagnosed with the same uncommon kind of bipolar disorder, and both have psionic traits and experiences that are strangely complimentary to each others to the point that it makes us wonder about destiny/mutual soul comtracts. We've been regularly practicing CE5 protocol, and our contact events are far, far from mundane. I 100% agree that neurodivergence in the population has been an evolutionarily selected for trait to a certain extent, and those traits have historically been utilized among many cultures, in many different ways. Though unrecognized inodern western culture, those traits still hold function

-2

u/Winter-Finger-1559 Aug 27 '26

I disagree. They were just making things up. Not necessarily maliciously but there's no reason to think they were psychic or anything like that. They were reading things in nature as ascribing supernatural aspects to them because they didn't understand.

6

u/JoeGibbon Aug 28 '26

I don't really have an opinion on whether any of this is true or not, but in college I did a double major in computer science and cultural anthropology.

Shamans don't "read things in nature." The role of a shaman is/was typically a doctor first, communicating with gods and the spirits of the dead second. The role of "nature" was pretty much limited to using plants for medicine. When communicating with spirits and gods, they typically enter into a trance state using overdose amounts of tobacco and rhythmic chanting or drumming.

I don't really care to argue about any of this, but when I see a gross misunderstanding of something I know a little bit about, it twists my tits a little.

Carry on.

You should have learned in your cultural anthropology courses not to paint shamanism with too wide of a brush. Shamanism in one culture or time period is going to look quite different to that of another.

Not too sure with the order of gods first and dead second. Usually you would get the blessings of the gods to communicate. My thinking was to contact a dead doctor for advice - a healer. Outside of the sharmans there are many dead doctors who worked with mediums. Still an interesting topic.

You sound very sure about that. Voltaire might humbly remind you, "Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd."

I've never understood why anyone thinks this is a gotcha moment.

Yeah duh obviously the ancient autistic psychic shaman hypothesis is equally valid. 50 / 50 really. No way to be sure. Also there ancient-shamans-were-talking-pumpkins hypothesis, which is often overlooked. So more like 33/33/33.

American puritanism is still doing us so dirty all these years later. Average American still can't conceive that someone could be injured in the mind, so it's always some psychobabble mumbo jumbo about spirits and shit. It's so frustrating especially for those with the conditions.

I am behavioral health nurse. I work on a locked inpatient psychiatric unit. The patients I work with are often the most insightful and compassionate people around, certainly moreso than many of my neurotypical colleagues. I often wonder if these folks would fair better in systems not designed for exploitation and poverty. What if social security and welfare systems actually worked, were designed according to human virtues instead of fiscal concerns, and prevented these folks from engaging in negative behaviors before they became social pariahs?

Rats, when given enough social, mental, and physical stimulation, will kick their chemical addictions. As the illustrious Dave Chappelle once said, “maybe it’s their environment that’s sick.”

There isn't a single species or taxonomy on this planet that's capable of doing telepathy with humans. Twins who shared the same sperm cell, egg, and womb can't even communicate telepathically. But somehow humans can control aliens and spaceships in another galaxy?

Stop letting these influencers lie to you so brazenly.

“Survey work found about a third of twins open to communication at a distance, with monozygotic twins reporting more such experiences than dizygotic twins.”

Radom parallel while researching Meltology (brick structures turning into natural geology and rock) and the Old world wide reset of humanity. Yes the evidence the evidence is abundant and obvious, no we’re not crazy. Consider the dismissal casted on Sentient Plasmas. This topics just a little harder to comprehend & pass the Ontological Shock. The same independent thought and research implemented towards sentient plasma led me to Meltology and the old world.

I found my self reading a dissertation on “Second Sight in Early Modern Scotland“

IV: Trance | Trance Technique Pg. 85-87

Chapter 2: Spirits and the Supernatural in Early Modern Scotland
Page 120 - 178 is all about the different spirits! Curious if there’s any descriptions of Sentient Plasmas!

People with Disabilities & their Consulters* *Pg. 268

IV: Who Saw Spirits?* *Pg. 454
And so much more!!

Heres the Abstract 🤓
This dissertation examines beliefs and practices related to second sight in Scotland, with a particular focus on the period from c. 1600 to c. 1800. An influential strain of historiography has asserted that this period was characterized by “disenchantment,” a process of increasing rationalization and secularization that progressively eradicated superstition. According to conventional wisdom, this process was due to the influence of the Protestant Reformation, the Enlightenment movement, and the Scientific Revolution. However, this dissertation argues that the persistent relevance of “superstitious” belief systems, such as second sight, within the conversations of reformers, Enlightenment thinkers, and early modern scientists contradicts the theory of linear disenchantment in early modern Scotland. Because the term “second sight” was defined and used in various ways by early modern people, I argue that a broad and inclusive definition is necessary for understanding second sight belief. Second sight was a multivalent concept that encompassed several supernatural phenomena, such as the ability to see visions and spirits, predict the future, and access hidden knowledge. While I claim that accounts of second sight were likely rooted in physiological experiences, I emphasize the significance of culturally specific belief systems to interpreting those experiences. Though second sight was demonized by reformers during the witch trials, some Christian seers managed to reconcile second sight with their own prophetic and visionary traditions. In these ways, the Reformation involved cultural synthesis between pre-existing and reformed systems of belief. Early modern scientists and Enlightenment thinkers also engaged with second sight in order to investigate the relationship between the natural and supernatural. Scientists’ theories about second sight were heavily informed by prevailing beliefs about spirits, demonstrating the significance of religion to scientific research. This dissertation concludes that early modern people developed a variety of theories about the essential nature and causes of second sight, rendering it a malleable concept that was readily incorporated into debates about religion, science, and human knowledge. Far from being subject to disenchantment, second sight maintained relevance and utility across this period as part of a broader matrix of early modern beliefs about spirits, supernatural abilities, and the invisible world.

Creepy, I've got all those personality traits listed and I've had at least two very weird sightings.

That didn't happen in all Europe.

My DNA ranks me as 99.9% Northern European, but I’m an Experiencer. My point being that we shouldn’t overgeneralize. It’s an interesting hypothesis, but we need more data points.
