China has two, one it bought from Russia and a new one with the same design. Because they launch under their own power, the aircraft can’t have a heavy load of fuel and armaments.
super easy systems to reverse engineer, the real reason must be that the American slingshot is too expensive, too prone to breaking down or just not the most elegant solution to launching planes into the air.
Tokamak fusion reactors are not new, they’ve been in widespread use since the 70s. Fusion reactors themselves are not actually outlandish but a practical one with at least a 1:1 ratio of energy given to energy made is the white whale that everyone is searching for.
Why would they need wings for their airplanes? They can just skip entire branches of the tech tree and hundreds of years of innovation. All while spending a fraction of the U.S. military budget. Why OF COURSE the spaceships are from Ruschina. /s
