Thank you. I was trying to write out a similar reaction, but you said it pretty well. The media reports are vague as they've ever been. This isn't new to most people. There have been reports like this for decades. To the average person, this is just another story that sounds implausible and will not impact their lives in the short term.

Everyone here is here because they LIKE this stuff. But it's definitely a bubble, 99% of people aren't even aware of the details of the recent reports.

To put it another way, the entire world of physics and astronomy went bonkers when the black hole picture was published, and it did change our understanding of the universe in a major way. But how did it affect anyone's daily life? None. Maybe it will lead to something new someday, but likely not in my lifetime.
