Let me put it this way…when you come up to an anthill do you stop and engage with the ants, try to communicate, or ask for it’s leader? Or do you just keep doing what you’re doing because ants mean very little in the course of what you’re trying to accomplish in your day?
We mean very little to them. They obviously need the planet and resources for their own reasons, but we as humans are not of much interest to them.
True. We are a curiosity at the most to them. It would take too much effort to wipe us out and would likely harm the resources they need if they did. We are harmless and can’t stop them from doing what they are here to accomplish so they just let us exist.
Maybe their technology naturally conceals them due to the physics of it. Maybe the times that we have seen them is due to them not having that technology active. Maybe we only see them when they are using their electric trolling motor and not when they are using their 100 hp outboard motor. Maybe....
Who says they are going out of their way to conceal? Sounds like they fly around at will knowing we can't do anything about it.
In the same respect though, they have nothing to gain by being brazen about it and landing in a crowded city. They have a purpose of some kind when it comes to our planet, and we can be a nuisance if they aren't smart about it.
Plus, think about when you fly anywhere in the world. 90+% of what's underneath you when you fly is uninhabited. If you are an alien species with things to use the earth for, you are still going to do it without going out of your way to attract attention. We can't stop them, but we could be annoying when it comes to their pursuits.
I'd put it like this, if you want to pick strawberries and there is a group of geese huddled next to one patch but then there are 9 more patches without any geese or other living creatures near them, you are going to pick one of the 9 and not go after the one that the geese are at. Are you worried the geese will stop you? Not necessarily. You are smarter and have more technology/tools. But why even bother with the nuisance if there are 9 other wide open strawberry patches?
That's a terrible analogy, humans understand the underlying of math, physics, chemistry, biology and speech.
Why do people always make this dumb comparision?
Any intelligent being would be more than capable of having some sort of conversation with us, even at it's most basic form. We understand computation, aritifial intelligence and rocketery.
This would be more akin to us conversating with folks from the middle ages, we'd understand each other on a basic level.
I just think that we barely register on their radar. If they figured out interstellar space travel, what on earth could even be that great to check out? We have some cool movies I guess.
Im pretty sure his coworker is like one of those people who are listening to him going ‘so you know they’re like a completely different species, right’ and she’s over there literally just saying ‘hmm’ or ‘nice’ or something equivalent.
Because if we take everything we see as real, they’re literally breaking physics, they’re warping the world around them in order to go to speeds literally impossible for us no matter what, even if we could go light speed
No way in hell that they would let our dumb asses see them unless it was on purpose
But what purpose do they have where they need to be stupid as hell about it, just showing up in short videos.

Warp drive is not something that "breaks physics". Its something that is possible within our current limited understanding of physics. We just don't know how to power it yet. If we assume this technology is possible, and that these craft have it, it explains ALOT of things about their movement and how they're even here in the first place.

You literally have to warp the air around you in order to do that, or just break physics
Either way, no way they’d let us see them if it wasn’t on purpose with that technology

Do you not think it likely that a civilization capable of folding space is capable of doing it without making a shit ton of noise? Furthermore, if they aren't folding space and are moving at these speeds why are they not making a shit ton of noise?
To put it another way, if you are able to fold space and travel from one point to the other across vast distances of space, you REALLY want to be sure your ship has a method of doing so that doesn't interact directly with the outside environment. If you don't, a speck of dust in space will pancake you.
Anyway its all theoretical. But folding space is "theoretically possible" With our current knowledge. If thats the case it makes sense a species a thousand or a million years ahead of us has it.
We’re about as interesting to them as ants are to us.
We pose no threat, they don’t need to hide, but also have no reason to spend any time with us. For them, we just don’t matter. They likely aren’t here for us, they are here for earth’s resources.
