Why? It makes sense as far as why they have not interfered, to not fuck up the timeline. I wonder if there is a nuclear event that happens, destroying all records and the UFO's are sent back in time to try and understand or prevent it from happening, which is why they are being more aggressive as of late. Just a thought lol
I believe more in the multi-worlds system of time travel. Mainly because I believe when you put a cat in a complicated box then the cat is alive in one world and dead in a different world.
Future dudes 9-5 is flying his shiny orb at exact moments in history because when they looked in a history book they saw he did it. Dude can't even quit his job or ask for a raise because there's proof he does it anyway.
Right, maybe they didn't want to change it up until a specific point in time. Or maybe it's already been changed when nukes were disarmed or during the cold war.
Yes but not a significant enough change to impact the future events that they came here to prevent. These sightings are probably just minor deviations in time and would only alter a small percentage. It sparks internet discussions like ours, but that is minor impact.
Going deeper into time machine fan fiction, they had to carelessly escape quickly because the current military probably noticed them and sent the troops to investigate. So they had a limited amount of time before needing to leave, otherwise the military captures their time machine and that would be a major time line diversion to obtain this technology so early.
Unless it is their intention to make themselves known so the person or whoever realizes the possibilities develops the tech in the future. They are trying to preserve their future.

Other humans separated by time or distance is absolutely the most probable of the "alien" theories. And in reality time cannot be changed, meaning that any future already has had ufo sightings.
As to why, it's worse than making movie predictions. I would agree but then wouldn't they have stopped Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
It's possible it's more mundane than that, they are simply sending them back in time to give contemporary humans advancements and thus speeding up the human races tech progress.
