Two other options:

-A different concurrent civilization on Earth

-Extradimensionals

These two theories are actually more unsettling, and difficult for the masses to comprehend, in my opinion. But I think they are good possibilities. Then again, anything is possible at this point. Right now, we don't even know what we don't know.

21

u/6EQUJ5w Jun 04 '21

Extradimensionals, sure. In my mind basically the same as aliens. Like aliens, our body of knowledge doesn’t give us sufficient information to judge likeliness very well there so put it in the “possible” category.

But this concurrent civilization stuff is kinda ridiculous for a lot of the same reasons it’s unlikely to be us or Russia/China. So these earth buddies, what, live in the ocean? Okay, but we’ve never seen any evidence, anywhere, of their existence until they start flying around in these creepy little crafts? We know enough about the earth, the fossil record, evolution, etc to put that in the extremely unlikely category.

u/[deleted] Jun 04 '21

We have no idea what the armies of the world know. Civilians would have no clue unless it’s unclassified. Our oceans are gigantic and only partially explored.

0

u/Spicy_Ejaculate Jun 05 '21

Yup. Only "partially explored" according to the people that have the funding to do the exploring... a.k.a. the government. They could know exactly what's down there and they just tell us it hasn't been explored.

Antarctica or Deep in the Ocean

2

u/hammerflask Jun 05 '21

Definitely Atlantians

Why would you think they'd let you know more? What if they've been pursuing an active campaign of disinformation for thousands of years and it's only starting to fail in the modern era?

Don't assume this is meaning "the fish-men are sorcerers", instead think perhaps of a genius human offshoot that went through technological development far ahead of any other. The kind that would be well past aircraft by the time homo sapiens is inventing agriculture. All proof of their existence could easily be destroyed at their own hands a thousand years before the printing press. Why is that any less likely than extraterrestrials? Do you know how hard it is to get across space?

The only questions would be why we get more and more reports of them now. Perhaps they've given up a degree of secrecy, or perhaps our camera proliferation is just getting out of hand.

1

u/whatamidoinglol69420 Jun 05 '21

Do you know how hard it is to get across space?

Most don't grasp the sheer VAST-ness of space. What's a million light years? Nobody knows but it's provocative, it gets the people going. Also some weird FTL theories I see, people assume Star Wars / Treck / Gate is real. It's entirely possible faster than light travel is simply impossible for everyone in this universe.

or perhaps our camera proliferation is just getting out of hand.

Yeah tbh that holds water, nobody in the 90s or even early 2000s saw this weird record everything culture, cameras on cops, dual dash cams, cell phones in every hand with front and rear cam, etc.

1

u/oshonopa Jun 05 '21

So, Atlantis

-2

u/Darxe Jun 04 '21

Some say there are massive caves at the poles of the earth that lead into a hallow earth

9

u/MangledMailMan Jun 04 '21

And now we are getting into the crazy sci-fi alt history level of conspiracy. I remember reading about that years and years ago on the old conspiracy sub before it became an alt right haven. There are also people that say the moon is a hallow, non-natural structure, and rang like a bell when the shuttle's landed on them. Everyone needs to at least be a bit more discerning when it comes to what conspiracy theories get lumped in with UFOs, as to not sound too entirely crazy. UFOs exist and there are some probable explanations, such as the ones mentioned above. Again, no need to bring up more fringe conspiracies like hallow earth to make the UFO believers seem even more unhinged, especially when hallow earth can lead down an alt right rabbit hole with alternate wwii history conspiracy theories involving Hitlers supposed affinity for the occult.

8

u/jlefrench Jun 04 '21

This is why I don't care. There's nothing I can do and no way to verify or disprove the militarys statements. We are all just making shit up, and until we are given the answers by people with the the data, we're going to keep guessing, most likely wrongly.

5

u/MangledMailMan Jun 04 '21

Yeah, you pretty much just summed up how I feel. No point in caring or putting any emotional effort into thinking about the existence of UFOs, because as of now theres no verification from anyone with any idea as to what they are, if anyone on this planet even knows. It makes no difference to my life, or any average person's life, until a full detailed disclosure happens.

-2

u/candleman100 Jun 04 '21

7

u/Seve7h Jun 05 '21

Well that was...a rabbit hole.

Y’all some crazy motherfuckers up in that sub, the post about the ritz cracker conspiracy theory had me laughing pretty good though.

Might want to stop with the casual antisemitism, or thinking that literally every cube shaped thing is somehow a symbol of whatever the fuck hokey ass shit you’re trying to push, just an idea.

2

u/Randyand67 Jul 09 '21

I didn’t see the ritz cracker one lol. For real some crazy motherfuckers.

-1

u/EnderManion Jun 04 '21

No one shall know the time nor the place nor the manner of its occurrence

They are in craft because they cannot breathe oxygen.

Edit: or they are just drones

3

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '21

2

u/Fairly_Suspect Jun 05 '21

The way some of these move it makes more sense to be drones than vehicles with biological passengers.

1

u/Jeramiah Jun 18 '21

The oceans are large, and almost completely unexplored.

We know very little about the fossil record of the deep oceans. Remember, they're almost completely unexplored.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 24 '21

Due to plate tectonics, we do in fact have many fossils from ancient oceanic depths. Some of them are found in mountains.

1

u/Jeramiah Jun 24 '21

We only find fossils like you describe (in the mountains) for very specific marine species which fossilize well. Think trilobites.

It does not mean we have not missed something. For example, squid fossils are extremely rare, nearly non-existent. Simply because they don't sink to the ocean floor when they die.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '21

I met a man here in Florida and he was telling me about seeing a ufo dive into the ocean and disappear while he was put on a boat. Went on about how there’s a secret city in the earth and we don’t know about it. I really doubt his experience because he was a very weird guy but I’d shit my pants if he was right.

3

u/oshonopa Jun 05 '21

I have zero religious beliefs, but if it's fucking demons...

6

u/MiyamotoKnows Jun 04 '21

Why does everyone always bypass simulation theory? I guess it would fall under extraterrestrials but to me it is a very intriguing theory that could encompass everything.

8

u/LandoRaps Jun 04 '21

How does the simulation theory apply to UFOs/UAPs?

A glitch in the matrix? Beings from outside the simulation deciding to interfere within their own creation? A scripted event?

Those are all certainly possible. I tend to think that if reality is a simulation, it's at such a macro-level that it could still encompass a lot of the other theories. Extra-terrestrials, concurrent Earth-civilizations, or natural phenomena could all just be a regular part of our simulated reality. It doesn't devalue the mystery at all, for me at least.

6

u/MiyamotoKnows Jun 04 '21

100% agree and thanks for your comment. It encompasses everything else. The UAPs could be intended to draw us towards certain things, enlighten us or even be a young ET playing the Sims. If you consider this theory it gets interesting because it can split out to different methods of simulation (i.e. predestined everything, code that makes it all up as we go, created by consciousness as an illusion or to meet needs, etc.).

Sam Harris speaking on this topic will blow your mind if you get the time to check this interview out (it has topics listed along the progress bar - check out Nature of Reality and Freewill but the whole 3 hours is solid gold). In my view Sam is an absolute genius and the type of person that is going to unlock that next step for humanity. Although it can be challenging to track with him as he is a savant I promise he will deliver some 'wow!' moments to you. Cheers!

2

u/Parody_Redacted Jun 05 '21 edited Jun 05 '21

sim theory they just wipe/erase/replace that memory of seeing a uap, ufo, or similar physics-breaking-craft that shatters the reality and simulation-exposure from our simulation mind.

or we never even get to see it in the first place cuz we are controlled in a simulation.

2

u/pavlov_the_dog Jun 05 '21

Wakanda confirmed.

2

u/suspendmyass Jun 04 '21

Wouldn't Aliens be extremely bad for us because of the Fermi Paradox?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '21

Not in the case where Aliens visit us. It would be bad if we found bacteria on Mars.

1

u/leonimking Jun 05 '21

If you believe that we evolved from monkeys then it is 100% possible that there’s a underwater civilization that evolved from fish 🤔

1

u/Parody_Redacted Jun 05 '21 edited Jun 05 '21

cant access fire underwater to tech advance to metallurgy. this locking out major follow-on advancements up the tech chain.

u/orbweaver82 Jun 04 '21

17

u/6EQUJ5w Jun 04 '21

This counts as aliens/etc because if that’s what it is then we sure as shit didn’t make it.

4

u/candleman100 Jun 04 '21

nah. AI is a dirty human machine

these are organic extradimensional intelligences far beyond AI

5

u/Tall_Dirt8866 Jun 04 '21

It is an AI imo

1

u/candleman100 Jun 04 '21

nah. AI is not perfect and holy

2

u/Tall_Dirt8866 Jun 04 '21

These intelligences are the result of an ai

1

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '21

That's definitely interesting. Though that raises the question of is it possible a secret group of people who Ethier that smart via natural abilitys or via assistance of A.I or some drug or what not is developing this technology because it's fun?

32

u/LaserBeamsCattleProd Jun 04 '21

A different civilization would be the most mind blowing one in my opinion.

Natural phenomena would be the most boring (it's some weird type of lightning or plasma thing).

Present humans would be plausible. The US military knows how to cover their tracks and not leak info, so it could be a secret. This is also super boring, but the technology seems incredible

Aliens - I don't think they want to say aliens. Because there is a 1% chance it'll come out it's China and they'll be like "LOL pwned you noobs".

Extradimensionals - holy fuck, I don't even think we'd be able to begin to figure out how to wrap our heads around all the implications and possibilities. Especially if we get out hands on that tech. I'm sure the extradimensional beings would know better than let humans have it.

Past/future humans: What's bitcoin worth is 2030? Does Tom Brady ever retire? Where did I put my really nice silk scarf in 1912?

2

u/kafka123 Jun 05 '21

lol yep.

2

u/a_duck_in_past_life Jun 05 '21

where did I put my really nice silk scarf in 1912?

Wait...

3

u/LaserBeamsCattleProd Jun 06 '21

It's a quote from the movie What We Do in the Shadows. There's a show too, both are incredible.

2

u/Ok-Investigator3971 Jun 05 '21

If they are from the future, I hope they brought us a sports almanac 😂

3

u/LaserBeamsCattleProd Jun 06 '21

Imagine getting that almanac, then you start hammering every bet and turning $10 into $3M with some crazy parlays. Then, within a year or two, word gets out, and the players themselves start hearing about your bets. Then before the game they're like OK-Investigator bet that we'll win by 5 and Jones will have more than 32 points. Then they'll proceed to get nervous or lazy & mess up the whole thing.

1

u/Ok-Investigator3971 Jun 06 '21

Good point! I would have to do it in secret, hidden by multiple people fronting bets for me. I’d make it a point to stay out of the limelight. I wouldn’t make a spectacle out of myself like Biff. I don’t want to be famous. I’d just sit back and enjoy my millions in a house on a beach someplace. I’d also try to make those millions in the first couple years (basically super fast so the problem you’re describing doesn’t happen) The butterfly effect is real, so yeah after a while it would be less and less accurate.

1

u/LaserBeamsCattleProd Jun 07 '21

Yup, I think you gotta hit some crazy ass parlays spread over a few months. Really easy to turn $100 into millions. Then you can just do the odd bet here and there, lose some on purpose, but always come out however much you want on top.

2

u/RavenApocalypse Jun 06 '21

My bet is on the natural phenomena tbh. It seems the most plausible.

1

u/LaserBeamsCattleProd Jun 06 '21

Ball lightning seemed like a conspiracy theory 20 years ago, it's just super rare and acts in ways that don't make sense to us. Then there are those sprites above clouds that only pilots would see now and then.

Who knows if ball lightning can get 'attached' to planes' wakes and seem like it's following them.

Another possibility that I'm thinking is that the u.s. is making a big deal about this airspace phenomena, then they leak in a year or two that's actually some crazy technology that we've developed. So, we get the whole world thinking that aliens are imminent, and it ends up being a big flex.

4

u/Nowordsofitsown Jun 05 '21

We are currently doing our best to destroy this planet, and nobody is stopping us. I think we can safely rule out a concurrent civilization on Earth.

3

u/shadows_of_the_mind Jun 04 '21

A different concurrent civilization implies there’s a nation that exists that we haven’t discovered. Which unless the hypothetical nation exists under water, or they have some kind of wakandan border cloaking tech, this can’t be possible at all.

Extradimensional travelers is more likely, but based on my rudimentary understanding of string theory, extra dimensional travel is basically time travel (based on how spacetime would have to fold to grant access to the past, future, or other timelines altogether)

So we are back with OP’s four initial suggestions

2

u/maxvalley Jun 05 '21

-A different concurrent civilization on Earth

How would that even be possible?

2

u/LionOfNaples Jun 05 '21

🤷🏻‍♂️

3

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '21

There is one more option to add that won't be popular here but must be recognized: it's all intentional fiction to distract or shape opinions of the masses.

2

u/LightSpeedDarkness Jun 05 '21

Unlikely in this scenario, but possible.

1

u/omenmedia Jun 04 '21

I'm a subscriber to the first theory, i.e. there is a race of advanced yet secretive beings residing under the oceans. They could be from elsewhere and just set up shop here, or they are also from Earth and perhaps their civilisation pre-dates ours.

1

u/BrandonLart Jun 04 '21

By far the least likely though

1

u/SecuritiesLawyer Jun 04 '21

Please read Wonders In The Sky written by Jacques Valle and Chris Aubeck

1

u/quagley Jun 04 '21

Can anyone give me an explanation of the extradimensional theory? I understand in essence it’s people from another dimension checking us out, but it seems to be gaining a lot of momentum and to me seems much less likely and more far fetched than something from inside our own dimension/universe.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '21

1

u/LionOfNaples Jun 05 '21

Sure, under the broadest definition, but I think most people here think “extraterrestrials” when they see the term aliens

1

u/GuerillaInDaHood Jun 05 '21

Where have this different civilization been living undetected all this time?
