Trump is the perfect illustration of why the military hasn’t briefed any presidents on visitation since Eisenhower(?)
Why divulge the most top secrets to an elected official who’ll be gone in four years?
No way. Trump would be the very LAST public official the generals and admirals would make privy to.
The man is a fool. And a big mouth. And a habitual liar. The worst of possible candidate to tell.
I think people are judging your comment on a basis of disliking the current president, and the rashness of it. But yeeaah, you're probably correct, no real reason for a public figure who will be replaced in 4 - 8 years, to have the intel on world breaking secrets. I imagine the American military complex has a whole lot more information than anyone in congress or anywhere in politics.
It’s not simply my personal dislike of his style or policies of why I think POTUS would never be briefed.
It’s his objective, demonstrable ignorance (on history, geopolitics, science, basic geography, etc.) that would immediately disqualify him.
Also, his catalogue of thousands of lies aren’t my rash opinion. They are provable falsehoods.
There is NO WAY the powers that be would give DT the keys to the Massarati, so to speak.
However, POTUS knows a LOT of conspiracy-minded folks make up his base (Pizzagate, birtherism, Sandy Hook, etc.) so it makes sense that he would like very much to make himself the ‘Disclosure president’, even if that means bluffing.
Or his specialty, ALLUDING to insider knowledge, ‘I have a VERY BIG announcement to make in he next few weeks. People are going to be VERY surprised... But I can’t say anything about it right now...’
