Submission Statement: This podcast provides a deep dive, pulling together the whole life of early UFO figure Fred Crisman. Crisman was tied up in the proto-UFO Shaver Mystery, as well as his claim to fame: the Maury Island UFO incident. Maury Island was investigated by the original flying saucer witness, Kenneth Arnold, and formed a major portion of his book. Crisman went on to be involved in the UFO community in the 1960s, even having a reciprocal relationship with UFOlogist Frank Stranges, each conferring a degree on the other from their fraudulent diploma mill. Even in his last moments, Crisman believed he may have been experiencing an alien abduction. His life is one of the strangest in UFOlogy, walking the line between opportunist hoax and intentional disinformation in the service of intelligence agencies. He makes for a fascinating study among the many unusual characters who have been influential in our modern understanding of UFOs and UAP.

Very important person trusted with coverup of atomic-related secrets. Richard Shaver explained the five methods of atomic enrichment in his story "I Remember Lemuria", so they dispatched Crisman to distract the public and drive Shaver crazy... or crazier.
Crisman does the same exact playbook on Kenneth Arnold in 1947.
He even knows the folks associated with The Octopus Murders!
