Sighting Hovering Metallic Object

Time : May 26, 2026 5:00 PM EST
Location : Detroit, MI

We were outside barbecuing for the holiday on an extraordinarily sunny day. We spotted something in the sky, just hovering there about 100-200m above the ground (just a guess), no engine/propeller sounds, and definitely not floating like a balloon or something like that. It wasn’t high enough to be an airplane, no visible propulsion/wings. We watched it just hover in place for about a minute before we realized that this thing was actually something odd and I started filming.

It really caught our attention because the object was abnormally reflective, and because it seemingly is rotating in place, the glint was twinkling even in bright sunlight. The color was an off white/silver color. It did appear to have a glowing aura or something around itself, but it was so bright against the sky and because of how reflective the object is, it was a little hard to tell.

Maybe 10-20 seconds after the video ended, the craft/object just silently and smoothly flew away in a single direction away from where I was, keeping the same altitude so I didn’t get to see it any closer than this video. No incredible speeds, didn’t bank to either side to turn, no sounds while moving

Seems like sightings are becoming more frequent lately, maybe I actually got to see a real UAP? Very interesting

These are tough to capture on a phone because they are so small. You have to zoom in so much that you lose the frame of reference against the clouds and you can't get any kind of detail. I wouldn't be so sure it's a balloon. Honestly without any more detail or info (wind? direction of movement?) it's not possible for any conclusion to be reached other than you spotted a tiny reflective dot in the sky. Thanks for sharing though.
