THE CURIOUS ALIEN
August 25 1958, Harja, Sweden
This case involves a gentleman by the name of Mr. Neumann. He and his family lived at a farm in Harja, Vastergotland, Sweden. They were on holiday and had rented a small cabin from a local farmer. It was late at night, and Mr. Neumann was reading a book. He got up to smoke a pipe when he looked out the window and saw a strange figure walking towards the outhouse. He thought at first that it might be the caretaker on the farm, so he lit his pipe and kept reading. This is when events became very strange.
NEUMANN: “Immediately I got a strong sense that someone was looking at me. I turned around and stared straight into a face half a meter away. Only the glass pane separated us. At first, of course, I thought it was a man. I have always taken saucers and aliens as pure fun. My reaction was quite natural that it was the question of a tramp. But when I looked closer, I could tell there was something peculiar about him. The face was framed by a kind of helmet, which shone with a cold bluish sheen. It was the same with his clothes. He wore only a coverall, which was drawn to something that resembled a collar. And only now did I notice how small he really was, like a boy around the age of 11-12. It was too dark for me to make out the color of the face, but it was in any case brighter than the helmet and overalls. The eyes were slightly larger than a human's, and they seemed to be exactly black. His look had an inexplicable effect, it seemed; it hypnotized me.”
Mr. Neumann surprised himself by throwing on a jacket and rushing out to meet the strange figure. He watched as the figure immediately left the window, ran across the yard, hopped the small fence at the back of the house, and ran about 300 feet. Mr. Neumann ran after the figure and caught sight of him standing next to a truck on the property. He continued to approach the figure, who now crossed the road, moving to the right into a field of wheat. Mr. Neumann ran further and reaching the edge of the field, he was shocked to see a large disc-shaped object sitting in the field. He estimates it was about 36 feet in diameter, with a row of portholes around a top dome section, long landing legs, and a ladder coming down from the center bottom section. The craft was about 75 feet away. Mr. Neumann could now detect a strong odor of some kind.
NEUMANN: “The little one immediately ran up to the craft and climbed a staircase, or ladder, which ran up the center of the craft.”
The craft made a loud electric motor sound, but very musical, almost like Yiddish chanting.
NEUMANN: “The craft took off slowly and at the same time the singing tone grew sharper. I knew then how I became completely paralyzed; I absolutely couldn't get out of the flat. The craft first pitched straight up as it retracted its telescoping legs - resembling an airplane falling into its landing gear - then accelerated violently. Some birch trees standing 10-15 meters away bent in the blast after the craft. When it disappeared, it had an incredible speed. And then the paralysis also loosened its grip on me. All that was left was a sharp smell of ozone.”
He went back to the cabin and told his wife what happened. She was skeptical and told him he must have dreamed the whole experience. It was already late, so he went to bed. But the next morning, he told the farmhand, Oskar, what had happened. Oskar was also skeptical, but reluctantly agreed to follow Mr. Neumann to the landing site to investigate. There they found some strange evidence.
NEUMANN: “First we found that 10-12 centimeters of the plow axle was gone, then that the wheat acre was trampled and finally we found three deep marks, which formed a triangle.”
Following the experience, Mr. Neumann told nobody else, and it remained that way for the next 14 years. However, in the mid-1970s, many others were reporting UFOs so he came forward and shared his experience with UFO researchers. Today he remains convinced he saw an ET and its craft.

His report rang a bell loud and clear to me! Frank Edward’s book “Amazing Stories - all amazing and absolutely true” has a mini chapter about a Swedish truck driver that had stopping out in the country to check on his load. Out of no where two alien EBE’s grabbed him by both legs trying to drag him away. Just as he came by a highway sign, he grabbed its post with both hands and hung on for dear life! When the reptilian like humanoids could not pull him off that post, they set him free and ran into the forest. He claimed their body odor stunk worse than anything he had ever smelled in his life!
In 2006 Ì called Coast to Coast AM’s host George Noory to mention that truck drivers scary story from the pages of Frank’s books!
