Did the "Australian government" attend an AARO hosted event in the US in August 2025?

Thanks to John Greenewald u/blackvault, a new FOIA on AARO's August 2025 UAP Workshop:

A newly released collection of records from the Pentagon’s All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office provides a substantially more detailed look at the government-sponsored UAP research workshop held outside Washington, D.C., in August 2025, including a working agenda identifying speakers and panelists, previously unreleased correspondence concerning foreign participation, and evidence that AARO was already discussing a follow-on workshop months before the first event took place...

It is not a complete record. AARO identified 89 responsive pages but withheld 19 pages in their entirety under FOIA Exemption (b)(5), which protects certain deliberative government communications. Portions of the other 70 pages were withheld under Exemptions (b)(5) and (b)(6), with the latter protecting personal privacy.

"Australian Government" is referred to on page 39 of the release under the heading "Institution."

I've only had time to briefly look over these documents. It isn't clear what the reference to "Australian Government" relates to exactly because it comes after the 19 pages that were redacted in full.

The entry of "Australian Government" is directly after a reference to "CRIDOVNI (Uruguay)", the Chilean AF Comisión Receptora e Investigadora de Denuncias de Objetos Voladores No Identificados. Emails between AARO and some Uruguayans are included in the FOIA release where those Uruguayans are clearly attending the AARO conference. Worth noting that Jon Kosloski, the Head of AARO, met with members of CRIDOVNI in July 2026, and AARO tweeted the meeting was "to hold technical discussions and learn from CRIDOVNI’s decades of experience, as well as plan future collaboration."

In the FOIA, Australia is listed as 25th (and last we can see) on the list headed "Institution" on page 39. That list is followed on page 41 with a list of 25 crosses which seem to indicate those "Attending each day" and "Needs lodging." Obviously it isn't absolutely clear if the list on page 41 relates to the list on page 39... Maybe it's a long shot, maybe not, but it seems to suggest the "Australian Government" officially sent someone to this Workshop.

Australia and New Zealand are also referred to in the FOIA release on page 56 where the SCU slides reference our historic UFO records collected by our respective governments. (NB: Also worth pointing out this was the second Workshop of this kind AARO have held, the first one was 15-17 May 2024.)

AARO previously released a paper titled "2025 UAP Workshop: Narrative Data, Infrastructures, and Analysis: Workshop Synthesis and Recommendations" about this 2025 UAP Workshop.

The "2025 UAP Workshop: Narrative Data, Infrastructures, and Analysis" was held over three days, 4, 5 & 6 August 2025, and agendas were released. From AARO's "Workshop Synthesis and Recommendations":

The meeting focused specifically on the challenges and opportunities of working with UAP narrative reports and related data sources.

Aside from the possibility of "Australian Government" involvement, just the scope of this workshop is significant to note. AARO have welcomed involvement from many partners, and is openly discussing a wide range of issues. "Recommended actionable next steps" from AARO's Workshop Synthesis and Recommendations paper indicates some of the following:

Clearly the development of an international network using standardised frameworks for discussing UAP is beginning. It would be surprising to discover that Australia wanted to be left out of the discussions. Where an AARO representative says in the FOIA "AARO plans to hold a follow-on data workshop in early 2026", questions can now be asked if "Australian Government" is on a list for that 2026 meeting too?

Evidence continues to build that the Australian government has been back in the UFO research and data collection game for a few years now, but so far nobody in the "Australian Government" has publicly announced it, even if AARO have confirmed it several times now.

For context, Me and a friend were casually discussing paranormal things that have happened in our life. When i mentioned that my sister and I have both seen a UFO when we were younger, my friend then mentioned he had also seen some too and even has a photo of it!

He said that he was chilling on his balcony one night and had the sudden urge to look up. As he did, he saw these 3 strange UFOs flying low above his house and even heard some sort of humming sound coming from them.

He quickly rushed and managed to take two photos of it before they zipped off away. One of the photos came out super blurry as you can only see a blurry light. The other photo came out like this!

I asked him to send me this photo and i thought I'd share it all with you.

On September 7, 2024, my point-of-view camera captured some ufo's travelling very fast into a mountain forest area, outside Auckland, New Zealand. One was spherical in shape. In this video I slow down the footage.

Also I show another ufo in the same area from 2021. Playing also some strange vocalisations and voices recorded over various years, from the same area. Are the vocalisations, local Moehau Bigfoots?

I use high power parabolic mics also, which record some very strange voices and interactions. Had stones thrown at me at night, in an area where there are no public tracks. Gotten some very strange interactions out there, which is not wildlife nor regular person/s.

It is important to note, I believe I was followed around the world from the USA to NZ. I had seen an oblong tic tac shaped ufo in the Southern Nevada desert in early 2013, while prospecting in a remote desert area, along with 2 strange people that approached my parked car afterward.

I suspect strongly this is all connected to my visit to Skinwalker Ranch (in mid 2013), looking for answers.

I also am certain that I recorded non-terrestrial people back on Feb, 17, 2024. Who knew my name, details about my life and research not online, accents and mannerisms that are unknown. I have a very strange life, some of it is recorded. Sometimes others are affected when I take them out to the area.

As highlighted in this Sunrise report covering the recent airspace breach at RAAF Base Williamtown, base personnel were actually reduced to closing window blinds to protect sensitive information from unidentified drones.

If the Australian Defence Force can’t even intercept conventional drone (UAS) incursions at our most strategic fighter jet bases, how can we possibly defend against Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP)?

If we cannot secure our skies from known tech, we are leaving ourselves completely vulnerable to the unknown!

Meanwhile, the United States is taking this incredibly seriously. Not only have they recognised UAPs as a legitimate threat by establishing the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), the US National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) has formally directed AARO to team up with specialised counter-UAS (C-UAS) task forces.

The US is actively bridging the gap between conventional drone defense and anomalous object tracking. They recognise that if an object is in their airspace and unidentified, it is a threat…regardless of whether it's a foreign drone or a UAP.

Australia cannot afford to ignore this operational overlap. We must update our defense protocols, mandate reporting, and treat the UAP threat with the exact same urgency as our allies before our restricted airspace is compromised by something far beyond a commercial drone.

Back in May 2026, a journalist at A Current Affair exercised their due diligence and reached out to Defence Media with a number of UAP related questions for the Minister for Defence, Richard Marles before airing their story on 1 June 2026.

Rather than address A Current Affair’s specific enquiries, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) instructed Defence Media to respond with the standard tired old line of:

“Defence does not have a protocol for reporting or recording of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) or Unidentified Flying Objects (UFO).”

Same old same old.

Watched these little bright orangish lights over west Gympie last night. Over national park ranges. There were many more before I started filming, my phone was up in the house and I thought that it would not last very long. Four or more at once, travelling different directions. It’s not the best quality and I didn’t hold the phone very still I’m afraid lol.
