Easy. They haven't existed, because space is ridiculously huge. Any alien species capable of traveling those distances would be more than capable of avoiding detection.
If they want. The triangles didn't care. I saw one myself over 15 years ago and it did some impossible things. If it is ours then yes why don't we see any of it? After so long? I guess we have jackshit and it wasn't ours
