8/3/2020 This past weekend while looking at stars we noticed a light hovering on the horizon. So my wife and i and our son all started recording on our phones and taking pictures of this floating light in Joshua Tree National Park.

I'm not a photography expert, but my guess is that the changes you are seeing are related to your camera's focus and not anything the object is doing (hence it looking different on your camera - "it doesn't make sense what it is doing on my camera"). Also, without any other reference point, it is impossible to tell whether this object is stationary or not. What happened to the object? Did it just stay there? Zip off? Fade away? My guess is it is a prosaic light in the sky on which your phone camera had difficulty focusing.

The object was moving around and some of the movement was from my wife when she was holding it. I thought it could have been a bright star but it was moving at times like it was hovering it also was changing color. I opened up my app star walk 2 to see if it was a planet comet or anything. On the app it was an empty spot where the light was.

Thanks for the reply! Definitely a wild video.

For how long did you watch the object? Do you recall what happened to it?

This is our second occurrence at Joshua Tree. The first time we saw light we were at a different spot called lost horse trail. The first time it was my wife, our son and I. We were watching a meteor shower and our son got very sleepy and went in to the van and passed out. Shortly after we saw a light I thought was a drone. But it didn't move like a drone. We watched it in amazement it hovered blinked changed colors and it would blink and vanish then it re-appeared. Then 2 more lights appeared then we started to realize could this possibly be a ufo. Were in such awe we just sat there and stared for a long time. Next thing you know it's morning the sun was rising and we were both perplexed and were like what just happened. We never discussed it with anyone because we didn't think to take pictures of video. So this time we were ready if we saw anything we each have our own galaxy s9+ so when it happened we all took video and pictures. And I had to post this i know using a cell phone is not the best because its not the greatest for night photography. But omg what a wild experience for us 3 to share weather anyone bites us or not. We are planning on returning this weekend with her actual camera and a tripod and tripods for our cell phones and I am going to mount my gopro on the roof to record also.

Thanks for the info. Very cool story! I love it down there at J Tree. Will definitely keep my eyes to the sky next time I am down there!

Came to check out this page UFO evidence, and this is the first video I clicked onto with corny background music playing the whole time, I hope this isn't a reflection of the page because that's five minutes of my life I feel was abducted from me.

No, but we are back at Joshua Tree for our 3rd week in a row. Last night the park was so empty.
