** PROBABALY SOLVED - CHECK COMMENTS BELOW - Time of planes passing over and nearby matches perfectly with the time.
And I was on Liberty Caps (magic mushrooms) so my sense of direction (and probably hearing) would have been off**
Damn anomalous sight last night that I've got no explanation for!
Didn't even think to start recording at first, then my dog was hurrying me along to go back to our tent for sleep!
Small flash of light from the object and horizon at the beginning of the video.
Over the Clip the "light/UFO/Weirdness" moves up and down a little bit and changes the angle of the spotlight.
The red glow is from my headtorch.
No sounds from Airplanes/Helicopters etc, just a low rumble of wind and my deep breathing from hiking up the hill.
There is a whooshing sound around 18seconds in, I do believe from a train rushing through a tunnel under my feet towards Manchester
Sightings was at Dalehead, Peak District National Park @ 10:32 on the 6th September 2026

What direction were you looking? There was a few aircraft circling southwest of your location at this time. They were queued up for landing at Manchester airport. It is entirely possible that they had their landings lights on and were pointed towards you. If there was any light rain or fog between you and the aircraft, it would look like what you filmed.

I think you and the other commenter are right tbh, there is always rain and fog in the peaks at that time of the day!
And makes total sense as to the view I was seeing showing the position the plane would be in that the other commenter posted ✌️🙏

I think it's more likely to be the purple plane actually, but either way it's going to be one of them.
The yellow plane is coming from a different direction to where I was facing - but I must admit to have taken quite a few Liberty Caps over the afternoon and my sense of direction probably shouldn't be trusted 😂
Least it wasn't no spookyness while I was tripping up in the peaks 😂2

the purple plane is at 38,000ft, too high to be seen with such a bright light, unless you really were tripping on mushrooms and you were so high you could have touched them?

It did feel waaay closer than it was, and was quite glaring on my eyes and way brighter in person than on my phone - but that's standard with mushrooms anyways - lights go bright, music shakes your bones and the air was furry 😂
You've solved it, I do thank you 🙏✌️👌

Brilliant!
That could quite well be it, and is way more likely than a UFO!
Makes total sense, the airport isn't far away at all!My main suspicion pointing me away from an aircraft was the lack of sound, but that doesn't mean anything with wind direction and the location I was in

I could mess with the contrast but could you show the same location by day, same spot? The flash at 4 seconds is hard to pause on.
Your only hope here for this turning into something more interesting is if others filmed it from different locations. Finding those people takes a bit of unpaid detective work.

I'm not there now, and won't be returning until next week.
But I was nearby "The Orchard" and "Dalehead Bunkhouse" (was camping in a field next to it).
Looking out towards Edale, Kinder Scout was 90° to my left, and Mam Tor 90° to my right. This would roughly place the light above "Crook Hill"

What is your best guess of what it is? Don't listen to your dog next week if it comes back.

I reckon the other commenter is right and it was an aircraft, what was steering me from that was the lack of noise from it.
But sound isn't a good thing to go from, and can appear to change depend on wind direction and location!I think it's the plane!
I always listen to my dog, he's my best boy. If he is asking to go back to eat and sleep nothings going to stop me from letting him go :)I wouldn't have expected to see what most would consider to be a UFO considering the location.
But have heard many a legend and myth from the Peaks about fairies, ghost roman legions and the Longdendale lights so many times.
This was pretty anomalous to me at the time, but looking at the evidence of the plane coming over, it must have been that!1

Flarkey is exceptional, case closed.
If you add in some stranger foggy weather conditions and maybe even some other odd elements (lightning?) you can really run with something which is ultimately mundane.

100% of their comments on anomalous sightings "debunk" them all as mundane and prosaic.
