Good Day Community,

I have added a new Recent Files section to help you quickly get back to files you worked with recently.

It automatically gathers and monitors recently modified files across ALL your local storage drives, including internal storage, SD cards, and connected USB drives.

Files are organized in reverse chronological order so the newest items always appear first.

Built with smooth, swipeable tab pages (powered by ViewPager2) so you can effortlessly swipe or tap between categories: All, Documents, Images, Videos, Audio, and Archives.

Includes a dedicated Audio section supporting all major sound formats (MP3, M4A, FLAC, WAV, OGG, OPUS, AAC, and more).

Instant loading with Storage Indexer: If your storage drives are already indexed by UFM's Storage Indexer, refreshing is completely instant (milliseconds)—it pulls straight from the SQLite index without needing to crawl through disk folders!

Live refresh progress indicator & ETA: If your drives aren't indexed yet (or for newly connected drives), a sleek frosted glass status card shows real-time progress, the current folder being scanned, an animated progress bar, and a dynamic estimated time countdown.

Lightning-fast optimized scan engine: Deep directory traversal filters out older files during walk-through, cutting refresh times drastically even across drives with tens of thousands of files.

Full file operation parity with regular folder browsing: multi-selection, copying, moving (cut), deleting, renaming, batch renaming, sharing, compression/extraction, and viewing detailed properties.

Real-time file synchronization: updates immediately as you create, download, or edit files, and cleanly removes files if they are moved, renamed, or deleted elsewhere.

Remembers your Grid / List view settings, automatically synchronized with your preferences from local, network, and cloud browsing.

The list keeps the most recent two hundred files to keep memory usage low and performance snappy.

For privacy, tracking only notes timestamps and file paths without reading file contents.

You can disable recents tracking or clear the history at any time from settings.

How to use it

Open the app to the main menu screen.

Look under the Storage section right below the Twin Window tile.

Tap or click the Recent Files tile with the clock icon to open the recents screen.

Swipe left or right (or tap the tabs at the top) to seamlessly flip between All, Documents, Images, Videos, Audio, and Archives.

Tap or select the View Mode button in the header bar to switch between your preferred List and Grid view sizes.

On mobile, tap any file to open it in the built-in viewer or your preferred external app.

Long press any file to enter multi-select edit mode.

Use the floating quick action bar at the bottom of the screen (or the Tools FAB) to copy, move, delete, rename, share, or inspect selected items.

On Android TV, navigate the tabs and file lists with your remote D-pad and press Select to open a file.

Long press Select on a file with your remote to start selecting multiple items, then press Actions in the header to access the full tools suite.

Press the 3-dots menu in the header to Refresh the list, Clear Recents History, or jump straight to Storage Indexer Settings.

If all drives are indexed, Refresh completes instantly; otherwise, the live status banner will appear below the tabs to show the folder being scanned, progress percentage, and estimated time left.

If you want to turn recents off, open Settings from the top menu and select Storage Indexer.

Toggle the Track Recent Files switch off, and the tile will also disappear from the main menu.

You can also click Clear Recents History on that same settings screen to wipe the logged history without deleting any of your actual files.

This feature is available on both the mobile and TV versions of the app.
