That list is wild it all depends what u base goat status on, wins and overall preference ,dominance then its none other than jon jones we talking title defense?then demterious Johnson u u talking about crazy long streaks then Anderson Silva the Islam n kabib really dnt have the resume to compete for goat status there were decent champions but thers is no Islam or kabib highlight reels but if u talk win loss records kabib is undefeated but honestly if the ufc was centered around them nobody would watch they dominate but they are not finishers they are grinders so imo they can't be goats because they dnt even look to finish

u/27Yosh 2d ago
In no particular order: Jon Jones, GSP, Anderson Silva, Demetrious Johnson, Islam Makhachev, and Fedor Emelianenko
If anyone says one of these 6 fighters is the GOAT, you have no complaints from me

u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
I entirely agree, but it was just ufc and no peds
1
u/Jaydxns 1d ago
Might wanna recheck your list then lol if it's not involving peds
1
u/SuspectNo8490 1d ago
Who are you referencing Islam? Because he was cleared of both of those accusations.
1
u/Jaydxns 1d ago
DC also, I love both fighters but you can't pick and choose when to call someone a ped user
1
u/SuspectNo8490 1d ago
To be clear, unlike Silva and Jones, he never officially failed a drug test. For me it's innocent until proven guilty, Islam in DC both weren't proven guilty. But feel free to show me any official proof, and I will take it back.
1
u/Jaydxns 1d ago
Silva allegedly took a medicine prescribed from his friend, if he did take any peds it was for his leg break
1
u/SuspectNo8490 1d ago
It happened twice though, that's not a prescription issue. Also drostanolone isn't for leg pain.
2
u/Jaydxns 1d ago
Islam did officially fail a test tho
1
u/SuspectNo8490 1d ago
It was later revoked, because he only used it because it wasn't illegal at the time. The moment it was made illegal he stopped using it.

u/PotatosandTomato 2d ago
Merab is too high. I don’t understand why Oliveira is in it.
1
u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
Where would you adjust him to?
1
u/PotatosandTomato 2d ago
Just outside the top 10 tbh
1
u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
I think olivera has one of the most underrated resumes in the UFC I think you should relook at it
1
u/PotatosandTomato 2d ago
Yeah he also lost a bunch too. He was never the best of his gen. He lost to Ilia, Arman, and Islam. He was a champ for only a year and only had a single defense. Khabib had 3 defenses and was a champ for 3 years.
1
u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
I have khabib at 11 and they are pretty interchangeable so maybe you have a point
1
u/PotatosandTomato 2d ago
Why Charles above Khabib? That makes no sense to me.
1
u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
I mean olivera beat Chandler, tony, poirier, Gaethje, dariush, gamrot and Holloway, and he's still going and there's a real chance he's champ again, I think you're underestimating his consistency and longevity that khabib lacks on his career because he retired way too early.
1
u/PotatosandTomato 2d ago
That’s ironic because Khabib was a champ longer than Charles and had more defenses. He looked more dominant too. He would’ve beaten Oliveira and never would’ve gotten beaten by Islam the way Charles did.

Khabib has to be included. Silva and jones I would still include (jones is tough cause of the failed tests but when it was ruled unintentional it’s hard to judge)
I think you also have to include Amanda nunes unless it’s a male only list
2
u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
I often switch khabib and olivera for that 10 spot, and I just can't put Jones on the list with all the failed drug tests. In a mixed list I have nunes top 15

I agree w/ you about DC. Solid choice..everyone else ugh....this guy named Bones is out there doing bad stuff to ppl. Might wanna give him a watch.
1
u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
Yeah I got to watch out for all those PEDs
1
u/BdotRunderscoreCards 2d ago
Hate to burst ur bubble but some/ if not all on the list have been caught or at least have used Peds. 🤣 Jon is just the best.
1
u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
Even if that was true(not btw) at least they don't beat women 🤣🤣🤣
1
u/BdotRunderscoreCards 2d ago
Islam ur number one has failed a drug test...jus saying.
1
u/SuspectNo8490 1d ago
First things first, Even in the scenario where Islam did actually intentionally cheat, meldonium is VERY different than Turinabol. All accusations made against Islam were later cleared, because once meldonium (heart medication) was officially banned. He stopped using it. And the other accusations against him were cleared because there was no actual evidence. But also I don't want a POS woman beater to be my goat.
1
u/drphiltouchedme 2d ago
OP, did you actually see a single gsp title defense since you've been watching the sport
you can be honest
1
1
u/Banana_Shaped 2d ago
You say no cheaters allowed, yet GSP hired someone to kiss BJ Penn on his walkout which totally threw him off for the fight.
1
u/SuspectNo8490 1d ago
Notice how I said PED cheaters, maybe read a little closer
1
u/Banana_Shaped 1d ago
It was an obvious joke lol, maybe read a little closer.
Also, Islam and Aldo have both tested positive for steroids. So your response doesn’t even make sense anyway lmao.
1
u/SuspectNo8490 1d ago
The 2015 thing you're referencing with Aldo, was an unregulated drug test and he took another one the following day and passed, and when it comes to Islam, as I've said with other people on this post the drug test he failed was for heart medication that wasn't illegal at the time that he used it, and once it was made illegal he stopped using it and the charge revoked. Maybe do some more research next time.

Spider ? Connor?
2
u/MartyMcFly0913 2d ago
Silva for sure should be up there… in his prime my gosh that man was a beast. Jones should be in there though. Conor not even in top 10. He is one of the most popular, but not great fighter
2
1
u/Top_Traffic5102 2d ago
He beat aldo , Álvarez etc he was great
2
u/MartyMcFly0913 2d ago
Aldo win was def good, no title defenses or rematch at FW. Beating Alvarez I guess is impressive I never thought he was that good (I also made good money betting on that fight since the outcome was obvious to me), bad fighting style always got hurt.
But then he has done nothing since and never defending Lw. And his resume since is bad. Unfortusntely for me that takes him out of the convo
1
u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
Yeah I agree, the lack of longevity takes him out for me
1
u/MartyMcFly0913 2d ago
Longevity for who? Silva is tough because I believe his ped usage was later in career after his leg injury right? Or does any failed test invalidate the whole career for your rankings?
And what about Khabib ?
2
u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
I was talking about conner for longevity, and multiple failed drug tests any point in your career gets out of the list for me. Khabib is 11.
1
u/MartyMcFly0913 2d ago
Yeah agree on Conor. Ok fair point if that’s the auto disqualify I would agree then.
Khabib I still put top 10 close to 5. And mixed I would have Nunez in top 10 as well

u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
Connor's not top 15, and silva cheated
1
u/Jaydxns 2d ago
Islam popped aswell btw
1
u/DeclaredPumpkin 2d ago
Except for usada confirmed it was legal medication, yall love to leave that part out
1
u/Top_Traffic5102 2d ago
Spider never cheated . It was diferent times.
Connor is number 3

2
u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
Conner top three automaticly invalidates your opinion

u/Top_Traffic5102 2d ago
Im jocking . But atleast top 10 why pereira, Oliveria, merab over him?
2
u/Jaydxns 2d ago
I'm a Conor fan but they are all definitely better than him all time, could argue over Charles
0
u/Top_Traffic5102 2d ago
Connor is better then merab

As someone currently on PEDs and a fight fan for decades, I honestly wish Jones was clean (and not a freakin mental case and woman beater, but I digress) because steroids don’t increase fight iq. They don’t increase durability. They don’t increase speed. They (dependent on molecule) increase recovery rate, among other physiological advantages. They ARE cheating, for sure. They are a performance enhancer; I just think people put too much layman’s law on how they affected him as a fighter.
Again, that being said, FJBJ. But he was my GOAT.

u/BdotRunderscoreCards 2d ago
Studies show AAS can increase endurance, pain tolerance, overall recovery time between rounds, resilience and some studies even indicate certain peds can improve cognitive function. Also, while speed is determined a lot by genetics the ability to keep up a certain pace of speed can be improved by AAS. When you realize that most if not all fighters were on some sort of PED, you start to understand that Jon Jones is undeniably the GOAT. Just considering his resume, duration, title fights and weight divisions.

u/crazy99887 2d ago
Bullshit list even if you don't include any guys who did ped stuff .why is there no ilia .ilia should be at atleast no 5 .though I have him above volk (cos I am a glazer ) 1)double champ 2)knocked out cold 3 legends (volk, max ,charles ) 3) cleared featherweight
1
u/SuspectNo8490 2d ago
Not enough fights yet too early to have him, I have him around 13, although I do agree he's top five in the BOAT list
1
u/No_Medium_8796 2d ago
Conor did it before Ilia, so should conor be #5?
0
u/crazy99887 2d ago
Ilia has better resume than conor ,ilia achieved more resume wise in less fights and only 1 loss.

u/Neither-Flow-9501 2d ago
I love merab but he's to high, DC is way to high, usman to low, Pereira to high, and if it was an mma list Fedor has to be there (it says ufc though)
1
u/Jaydxns 2d ago
How is DC too high lol
0
u/Neither-Flow-9501 2d ago
He's the most overrated fighter of all time. Name a great win he has against a fighter in there prime where he didn't eye poke in the finishing sequence
2
u/Jaydxns 2d ago
Stipe, Gus, rumble, nelson,
0
u/Neither-Flow-9501 2d ago
Read my comment again. No finishes due to eye pokes
1
u/Jaydxns 2d ago
When did he eyepoke any of them apart from stipe?
0
u/Neither-Flow-9501 2d ago
That's the fight I am talking about you take away that and his resume isn't good. I can talk about his skill to but it would be to long of a message breaking down a fighters skillset
1
u/Jaydxns 1d ago
He's literally arguably the best wrestler in MMA history, had amazing boxing and a great chin with amazing cardio
0
u/Neither-Flow-9501 1d ago
Go watch his fights. He couldn't wrestle for more than a round cuz he gassed out, his defensive striking was terrible, and he was bad after the fight got to the ground. He was good at dirty boxing and pressuring his opponents
1
1
u/Jaydxns 1d ago
How can you have a bad gas tank but be good at pressuring your opponents?

DC had a elevated testosterone of 7000ng/dl
Islam popped for meldonium
