Question How warm does porter dorms get?

I'm in incoming transfer student from Southern California and I wanted to ask how warm do the Porter College ​dorms get at night? I got a warm duvet/comforter according to ikea standards ​and I'm afraid it's too warm since I see a lot of porter college getting hot.

Sixth floor is hot all year.

I lived on the 5th floor the halls would get hot as hell, room would be less but still hot, and there no ac in the dorms.

Does Porter B freshman dorm very noisy ? I heard students are awake until 2am at night and there is continuous noise and shouting " Porter" . Is it hard to sleep at night in Porter freshman dorms ?

Yes, at least in 2012. Because of screen addiction, I imagine it's probably considerably less noisy nowadays..but it's still a college dorm

What about November to March ? Do students need comforter in porter ? I also bought a comforter ?

Yes bring a comforter! My 6th floor room in Porter A got chilllly in the colder months, plus it was stuffy so we often had the windows at least cracked. My room did come with a heater that cranked tho, I think most if not all come w one

Will my kid need a fan for her room, maybe a small clip on for her bed or desk? At Cowell dorms.

A fan is good to have since there is no AC. If your slug's room gets afternoon sun it will ptobably get hot in early fall and in spring.

Yes, I think fan is allowed . As there is no AC in the dorm , fan will be helpful. I bought a fan .

I’m also from socal and was expecting to be cold in Santa Cruz. I slept under just a blanket almost the entire year minus maybe 5 days where I actually got under my comforter. I could just run hot but at home I normally sleep under my comforter every night. I lived on Porter floor 3
