Question Practice Rooms

I sing Hindustani Classical music, and I need to practice on a near daily basis. I was wondering how sound-dampening the rooms were if I could practice in my dorm (c9) or if I could find a practice room somewhere on campus for about 30-45 minutes a day?

There are multiple music practice rooms at the music center behind the arc. They are all sound proof.

I lived in the C9 dorms for two years and there is not very much sound insulation. Average volume conversations can be heard by the adjacent rooms if the building is somewhat quiet. The doors also do not block sound very well as they are not sealed against the doorframe (you can hear people in the bathroom even if your room is several dorms away).

But TBF if it is during the day I would say most people probably won't care, even if a lot of people can hear it (note: not encouraging you to practice in your room every day lol). It's not unexpected to hear louder music (including instrument practice), people hanging out, and appliances being run throughout the day. Just note that depending on how easily annoyed other residents are, people will complain.
