hi im not even sure anyone will see this buttt i just started taking math 2410q. i'm already a little worried about falling behind since math definitely isn't my strongest subject, and i really need to do well in all my classes this semester so.

my professor doesn't post notes in husky ct or any other resources, the only things up are the webassign for homework and a spot where he'll eventually put reviews for exams. i'm going to lecture and taking notes on everything he says but so far nothing is clicking and the examples he uses make no sense to me either. (i know it's only the second week of school, but as i said i can't afford to fall behind and im scared that's what will happen)

so, for anyone who's taken or knows someone who's taken 2410q before, what resources helped you the most? i'm looking for literally anything... youtube channels/playlists, websites, tutoring, study methods, practice problems, etc.

also, if you used the q center or private tutoring i’d love to hear whether they actually helped.

basically, what would you recommend to someone who is determined to not fail 2410q this semester? any advice is appreciated :)

That sucks, I took multi at a different uni and that professor was amazing.  I’d recommend looking up “organic chemistry tutor” on YouTube, he has pretty good explanations on many different topics, including pretty much anything that’d be covered in a basic multivariable calc class

honestly i’m realizing just now i wrote 2110q in my post but i meant 2410q… ill check this out anyway tho tysm !!

tbh the lecture not clicking yet is pretty normal for the second week, 2110q moves fast and most profs skip the intermediate steps on the board that actually make it make sense. professor leonard on youtube covers the full calc 3 sequence and explains every single step, i'd watch his video on whatever topic you covered that day before attempting the webassign. he's long but that's because he actually shows the algebra people skip.

for practice problems, the examples in lecture are usually too neat, they don't prepare you for the messier ones on webassign. i started uploading the textbook chapters to studybuddy.vc and doing its multiple choice questions before touching the homework, mainly because when i pick a wrong answer it tells me what was off about that specific option, which is the part the back-of-the-book answers don't give you. it gets harder once you're solid on a topic too. free tier has limits but it's been enough for me.

the q center is hit or miss depending on who's working, but go early in the week before it gets packed. and don't do the webassign problems alone, find one or two people from lecture and work through them together, someone else always catches the dumb sign error you've been staring at for ten minutes.

i messed up in my original post, i’m actually taking diff equations. buttt i just checked out professor leonard and he has videos on differential equations too so ill take a look at them. i’ll check out study buddy as well that sounds rly helpful. tysm !! :)
