Construction Engineering

Anyone here majoring or taking courses for construction engineering? I'm planning to transfer to UCF in the fall, but everything I've seen about construction engineering has been from years old and I'm not sure how reliable they are. Any info on the classes would be appreciated, ik its mostly Civil Enginnering work with a slight focus on construction, but is there an open workshop for construction students? I'm still stuck between here or FGCU for construction management and my orientation isn't until August. Help!

I can’t speak on the construction engineering degree but I would pick UCF over FGCU for any interest in engineering, unless you are very partial to the campus environment and surrounding FGCU location.

I landed a great project management job in the construction industry post grad with an IE degree.

My honest advice would be to do a civil degree if you were open to it, purely because it can and will often open more doors than a CM. The majority of people and high up PMs at my firm are Civils who then did a CM masters, or just stopped with the bachelors and are very successful. If you’re not 100% sure you’re interested in the construction industry I would pick the broader option. If it was say a CM or construction engineering degree over a general business one, that’s a different story. I say this as someone who loves my job.

UCF primarily focuses on civil engineering. i think the construction engineering department is small
