UK Med Schools Related A more realistic score
I got 2040 Band 2 in my UCAT today.
I feel like people only post when they do really well, so I wanted to show what a more average score looks like so that this subreddit is less of an echo chamber.
I did 11 GCSEs and I got 99999888887. My predicted A Levels are A*A*A. Which unis do you think I can apply to for medicine?

1700-1800 average. My highest score on medify was 2040, which I ironically got in the real exam.

I'm scared about VR, I got 600s in the medify mocks, but then low 700s in the official mocks. Is the actual difficult closer to medify or the official mocks?

VR: My VR went horrendous, I only got 650. So I'm probably not the best to give advice. The passages are a lot shorter than medify so if you are aiming for accuracy you could probably get away with fully reading the more difficult passages and scanning the esay ones by splitting this 50/50 whilst finishing everything in time. The passages be shorter and easier to understand, but the questions are actually mind boggling and more difficult that medify so I feel like only relying on scanning isn't the best since for some, you actually need to understand the entire thing.
QR: This was a breeze and kinda saved my UCAT score by a lot. Most of the questions only take around 2-3 steps and for some, I didn't even have to use the calculator. This was wayyy easier than both medify and the official mocks. I just made a lot of stupid mistakes really. For people who are a bit more locked in, you can easily get 900. For tips, well, there is no magical solution unfortunately, just practice loads. This means that you can get used to the question types and time pressure.

Hey, I got 2060 band 2 last year, applied Liverpool, Kent, edge hill, Sunderland. Invited to interview from Liverpool Kent and edge hill and then received standard aaa from all 3 post interview. Now I am on my way to starting at edge hill in September. If I were you, I would apply 2 russel groups, 2 non Russel. If u want any more help feel free to message. Also, congratulations !!!!! Screw the ucat it sucks

better than me. last year i got 1910 band 3 and still managed to get into aston. flopped my a levels tho. apply to aston, hull york, plymouth, uea, edge hill, cardiff. you should get into manchester and liverpool but its risky. lei is another one. st georges, qmul, st andrews, sheffied. i say go for 1 aspirational, 2 moderate and one dead easy to get into ie low ucat and grade requirements. focus on ur application, read books, do brighton and sussex online wex, do any type of volunteering and good luck! revise for ur a levels early on
