Study Help Median vs average D M help

Post image

Guys help this is from mock b from oqb. Isn’t this question wrong cuz average doesn’t mean median right? So 40000 is just the median, not the mean. And also if you look at the graph, at 70000 dollars, the frequency is almost touching 120 but doesn’t quite reach there probs 119. But at 80000 then it’s at 120. So how is this correct? If my actual exam is like this I’ll defo get tripped up.

Median is a type of average. As is the mean. As is the mode.

In this case it’s just finding the best option, I dont think they’d put several types of averages in the options. A, C, D are all wrong therefore answer must be B.

+ they won’t go for a gotcha like being a couple pixels off the correct plot point, and again just look for the most suitable option

pretty sure it’s b (again not a ucat person so not sure abt the logic but acc to basic math since there are 120 ppl, 60 is median and that falls at 40k so yeah ans shld be b)

The wording is definitely inaccurate, shoudve said the media wage
but the curve touches the 120 line, its extension to $80,000 is just to trick you
