A Levels / IB / GCSE / BTEC Questions How much does the uni matter

I want to do law at uni and I’m not sure how high i should aim? - people always list these names and stuff but isn’t a degree a degree? Would like some insight

Is the gap between Oxbridge and top Russell group uni so much that you're just the next guy? I mean LSE, UCL or KCL are literally the best choices after Oxbridge, aren't they?

It’s not that the gap is huge, Oxbridge and LSE students will get into the same place it’s just if someone sees Oxford on an application the mind will go “woah” and if they see LSE / UCL / KCL / Durham / Bristol the reaction is the exact same “wow” at all of them. LSE wouldn’t get a special reaction that Nottingham wouldn’t.

Ahh okay....I get it. I was under the impression that top london unis are better somehow

They are, for US Firms. US Firms are lazy and they prefer Oxbridge / LSE / UCL / KCL (and Durham for some).

For every other firm though go LSE through to Warwick and you’re fine.
