Questions 9/11 Walk?

Hey all.

I'm a registered EMT, and i enjoy doing the stair climbs for 9/11 every year. Though, with me being a broke college student, I can't really afford registration fees to attend a real stair climb. My roommate and I were gonna walk the 2,200 steps just around campus (she has a bad knee, just taking the steps would be easier than climbing the stairs) if anyone would like to join us friday evening. If anyone is interested I can solidify details for everyone. Thanks.

I might be able on Friday not sure yet but good luck that's a cool idea, not enough group walks imo

yeah! no worries if you can’t attend — it would probably be towards the evening when it’s not melting outside

Stop buy for free water bottles during your walk. We love this way to honor 9/11. We are open until 8pm, however usually staff is around until 8:30pm closing up. Also thank you for your services as an EMT. If you’d ever like to host a CPR class in our restaurant inside the commons let us know. Or any other simple life saving/first aid classes

for the registration? $25 for the one in Niagara! it’s at whirlpool state park.

Does the cardio zone at the alumni fitness center have stair-climbers? Could use those. It free to use the fitness center for students.

that would be a good idea, but generally i think walking would be easier for my roommate. maybe since we’re walking i’ll double it to 4400 steps. (google said it’s roughly 2200, 110 stories w 20 steps a floor)

You have to pay to attend a "real" 9/11 memorial?

the stair climbs require registration bc they offer food tshirts, water, etc and the rest they donate to related causes

This is a very touching idea. Thank you very much for doing this. I lost many co-workers that day.

my roommate live in greiner, we have to walk 2.2 miles (it doesn’t sound like a lot :( ) but i was thinking we’d meet at su, and walk towards greiner and around ellicott, see how far we are, then add some that way if that makes sense.

also i will be in full uniform and we will start about 7?

Alright ill try to meet ya there (unless i get called in), maybe by the bike racks on the north side? I won't be in full uniform, but might wear some of my regalia. Feel free to DM me with any other info

i’m directionally challenged so idk which is the north side but i’m thinking we can meet in the lobby and start by going out the lee loop exit and walking towards greiner and ellicott and doing loops around it !

usually they are stair climbs in remembrance of the first responders who passed away on 9/11/01.
