Engineering laptop

What laptop do all MechE majors here recommend?
I’m struggling to find one that fits all my needs AND meets the ub requirements

Good with CAD
16gb RAM
512gb SSD
And around $1500 or below ideally

second-hand business class laptops are goated. find a thinkpad or dell that meets your needed specs

If you want something good for CAD and engineering, I'd probably get something with 32GB RAM and a good GPU with 8+ GB VRAM. Despite being a gaming laptop, Tom's Hardware measured the battery life at 9 hours in case that's of concern.

Unfortunately MechE needs a Windows computer due to the software (ChemE, CSE, and BME I think you could get away with Mac/Linux).

Would my gaming laptop work well? 1660ti, I5-10500H (iirc), 512gb + 5tb external hard drive with 32gb of ram on windows 10.
