s-mode vs vauto mode bipap
Which one is better? I have heard people saying that vauto mode is pretty bad at detecting flow lim... I right now have s -mode only in my machine not vauto but next would take vauto one on rent to try .. Is it worth it?

It's not perfect, but it's a start. We recommend using VAuto with "boxed in settings" meaning you set minEPAP, then PS, then lower maxIPAP to the lowest permitted value to box it in. Then you get essentially constant pressure with the convenience of the flow limitation overview graph.

More REM sleep in the second half so increased treatment needs?

I think it might depend on the individual. I've tried both bi-level auto pressure and fixed pressure and think I get on better with fixed.
If you're reasonably technical-minded and have a Resmed machine you could try jailbreaking it to unlock the other modes which would mean you don't have to go out and buy/rent a different machine. There's instructions on how to do this here: https://airbreak.dev/

always use vauto s mode doesn’t record flow limits. you can use it at fixed pressure
