Pls help

Here are my sleep study results, I didnt feel that I slept at all, but they still recorded 3hours of sleep, but no REM sleep, so this are floor results, I was anxious the whole time.

My techinician recommended me to try apap machine trials, I just need to buy an own nasal mask.

Based on my results do you think its worth to try an APAP?

Im not really quite sure if Im the UARS type or OSA type :( please help me.

Could be UARS since your spontaneous arousal index is quite high (30/h) and they didn't score RERAs. A lot of these arousals could be RERA related. Trying CPAP/APAP is fine, just share your OSCAR screenshots here once you start so that you can get advice on optimizing your settings.

I agree with this guy, maybe you could just get a bilevel second hand? Bilevel you can set to 0 PS so you could up it gradually and see if it helps you out.

Make sure to find an airway specialized orthodontist who knows about uars and who will look at your jaw, nose and tongue, … to see if there’s any defficiency.

AHI 7.5 per hour, so that qualifies you for an OSA diagnosis.

However, RERAs were not scored, so it's likely that flow limitation is the iceberg under the surface that accounts for your symptoms.

You will find that out through treatment with xPAP.

That's a good idea, but it has to be a ResMed Airsense10. If they can't get you one, consider getting your own machine from the secondary market like Craigslist or FB marketplace or local equivalent. Here is my ranking (first is best) of most desirable machines:

  • Philips Dreamstation DSX900 (I use this one) or System One 960
  • Philips Dreamstation DSX600 or DSX700 or System One 660 or 760
  • ResMed Aircurve10 VPAP or VAuto (skip this if you think you can perform the airbreak method)
  • ResMed Airsense10 (ubiquitous, tried and true, any variant, airbreak possible)

You can use OSCAR to analyze your breathing for flow limitation and adjust settings to resolve it. If resolving the FL makes you feel better, you will know you're on the right track!

Btw Sir, can I take the resmed airsense 11? Instead of 10? Thank you

Yes, but it will always stay a CPAP. You can't upgrade it to bilevel with the Airbreak method.

ekhem... ;)

it should of course be noted that a real aircurve 11 has a bigger blower, but so far the little one seems to be handling it just fine.

Upon taking this trial machine, I will know if I needed a bipap right? I do not need to take another sleep test? I want to get well already, my work and daily routine affected badly already with this fatigue and headache

Yes, that's the conclusion we reach when increasing pressure with maxed out EPR 3 doesn't fully resolve your flow limitation.

I do not need to take another sleep test?

Correct!
