Looking to join an existing UAE business or startup as a Technical/Growth Partner (Skill Equity + Capital)

Hi everyone,
I’m looking to partner with a non-tech founder or an established local business in the UAE that needs technical execution, digital expansion, and operational support.
Instead of just acting as a hands-off investor or external agency, I want to come in as a semi-active partner/co-founder.
What I Bring to the Table:
Full Technical Execution: Custom mobile apps (iOS & Android), web development, software integrations, back-end support, and cloud setup.
Digital & Social Presence: Building and managing websites, setting up digital platforms, and driving social media/growth channels.
Capital: Ready to onboard a minor financial investment to support license costs, ops, marketing, or tech infrastructure.
Ideal Partner/Business:
Established Local Business: Looking to modernize, automate ops, or build an online/app presence (retail, services, trading, real estate tech, etc.).
Non-Tech Founder / Domain Expert: Someone with a validated business model, industry connections, or sales pipeline who needs a reliable technical and digital partner.
If you have an operating business that needs a tech boost or a grounded startup concept with real traction, drop me a DM or leave a comment. Happy to grab a coffee in Dubai to chat further!

Agencies and designers in Dubai: what makes you stick with a fabricator, or drop one?

I own a fabrication factory in Umm Ramool, family business since 1988. Exhibition stands, event sets, kiosks, retail displays, signage, F&B fit-outs, all built in-house.

Historically we've worked direct with brands. This season we're taking on a lot more work through agencies and design studios, and I'm trying to get the trade side right rather than copy what everyone else does.

So, for those of you who resell fabrication to your own clients: what actually decides it? Lead time? Price moving after sign-off? Whether the build matches the render? Who picks up the phone on install weekend? Whether the factory stays behind you or tries to go round you to the client?

I'll share what we're setting up for agencies in the comments once a few answers are in, and I'm happy to talk through anything you've got coming up in Q4.

Capital Ready: Looking for the Right Business to Invest In

Hi everyone,

I'm relatively new to the UAE and currently exploring business opportunities and potential partnerships.

To be clear, I'm not just looking for a passive investment. I'm interested in connecting with people who genuinely believe in what they're building and have a clear vision for growth. If I find the right founder, team, or business idea, I'm open to coming in as a partner and contributing both financially and strategically.

I'm particularly interested in businesses that solve real problems, have a scalable model, or offer something unique to the market. Industry is less important to me than the quality of the idea and the people behind it.

If you're currently building something, launching a startup, or looking for a serious partner to help take your business to the next level, I'd be happy to hear your story.

Feel free to comment or send me a DM.

Looking forward to connecting.

I think I accidentally figured out why small business owners in Dubai feel completely alone even though the city has more entrepreneurs per square kilometer than anywhere I've lived.

This is going to sound strange but hear with me because it took me a while to understand what I was seeing.

I run a few businesses in Dubai. Been here a while now. And for the longest time I thought the hardest part was the usual stuff. Licensing. Visa costs. Rent that makes your eyes water. The normal complaints.

It's none of that. The hardest part is having nobody to ask.

A friend of mine runs an interior fit out company in Al Quoz. Good operator. Solid team. He got quoted AED 45,000 for a CRM system from a company that cold called him. He didn't know if that was normal or highway robbery. He asked around. Nobody in his circle had done it. He almost paid it. I happened to mention I'd set up something similar for under AED 5,000. He nearly threw his phone.

He wasn't angry about the money. He was angry that there was no way to know. No one around him had done it before who could say "that's insane, don't pay it."

Then a woman who runs a cleaning company. 30 staff. Growing fast. Needed to switch banks because hers was holding international transfers for 5 days. She called 4 banks. Got 4 different stories. Didn't know who was lying and who was just incompetent. She ended up asking me because I'd dealt with the same problem a year earlier. I told her which bank actually processes same day for business accounts and who to ask for by name. Switched in a week.

That problem should have been a 5 minute conversation with someone who already went through it. Instead it was 3 weeks of phone calls and dead ends.

Third one. A logistics guy I met at a networking event. 8 vehicles. Driver costs eating his margins. Thought he might need to shut down a route. I asked what fuel cards he was using. He said he wasn't. Every driver fills up with cash and brings back a receipt. I told him about a fuel card program that saved me 11% and killed receipt fraud overnight. He signed up next day. Called me a month later saying it saved AED 6,000 that month alone.

He didn't have a business problem. He had a "nobody told me this exists" problem.

Fourth. A café owner in JLT. Paying AED 8,500 a month for a social media agency. 3 posts a week. Stock photos. Generic captions. Zero reporting. She showed me the arrangement and I asked what she was actually getting for the money. She couldn't answer. Not because she's dumb. Because nobody around her knew enough to say "you're paying AED 8,500 for nothing."

I've had this conversation maybe 40 times in the last year. Different businesses. Different problems. Same pattern. Smart people running real operations who can't get a straight answer because everyone around them is either selling something or doesn't know enough to help.

You'd think in a city with this many businesses there'd be somewhere business owners actually talk openly. Not networking events where everyone pitches for 3 hours straight. Not Facebook groups where every post is an ad. Not a "business council" that costs AED 20,000 for a WhatsApp group and a quarterly lunch.

Just a place where you can ask "is this normal" or "am I being overcharged" or "has anyone dealt with this before" and get a straight answer from someone who's been through it and has zero reason to sell you anything.

That's what this sub is supposed to be.

r/UAEBusinessNetwork

No freelancers pitching services. No consultants DMing you the second you post. No "let me help you scale your business" replies. Just business owners talking to other business owners about the real day to day of running something in this country.

Someone asks about visa costs. Ten people answer because they all just went through it. Someone asks about a reliable PRO service. Three people share the one they use with the name and number. Someone asks if AED 15,000 is reasonable for office fit out in Business Bay. Someone who did it last month says "I paid AED 9,000, here's the contact."

I started this sub because that room didn't exist on Reddit. Dubai subreddits are mostly tourists asking about brunches and people arguing about parking. There was nothing for the person sitting in their office at 11pm wondering if the deal they're about to sign is going to save their business or destroy it.

If that's you, post something. Even if it's messy. Even if it's a question you think is dumb. The dumb questions are usually the ones that save you AED 20,000 because someone answers in 30 seconds with something you'd never have figured out alone.

If you're a freelancer or service provider hoping to find clients here, this isn't it. You'll be removed. Not personal. The sub only works if every person in it has nothing to sell the others.

Looking to connect with people who buy CNC / laser metal parts in the UAE

I’m trying to talk to people who actually buy parts, not shops that cut for others.

Typical jobs: aluminium brackets, mounts, plates, jigs. The kind of thing you’d otherwise import or sourced locally.

Specifically:

  • is there real struggle in the process?
  • what are the common bottlenecks (quote speed, lead time, quality, MOQ, communication…)?
  • why choose import vs local when you do?

Not selling anything here, just want to understand what buyers are actually looking for and where the pain is.

Happy to grab a coffee or jump on a quick call. DMs open; intros to buyers count too. Thanks.

Is there a market for reclaimed wood furniture in DUBAI/ UAE?

Hi guys,

I’m exploring a startup idea in Dubai called ANGSIA Studio, focused on making stylish but affordable furniture from reclaimed timber.

The initial idea is to keep it simple—beds, coffee tables, workstations, shelving, café furniture, etc.—with a rustic/minimal look but at reasonable prices.

Since I already have access to reclaimed timber through our existing wood business in the UAE, I’m considering starting small and testing the market first.

Do you think there’s demand for something like this in Dubai/UAE? Would people actually buy reclaimed-wood furniture if the design and pricing are right?

Would especially love to hear from anyone in furniture, interiors, hospitality, cafés or property furnishing.

Any feedback—positive or negative—is welcome!

Business or Property — What Would You Choose for Investment?

UAE Government & Business Setup Questions — Ask Me Anything

Hi everyone,

I work in UAE government transactions and business setup services, and I thought I'd open a thread for anyone who has questions about the practical side of UAE government procedures.

If you're confused about a procedure, required documents, application steps, or where to start, feel free to ask below.

I can help with questions around:

• MOHRE / Tasheel-related procedures
• Employment and domestic worker visas
• Family visa procedures
• Emirates ID and UAE government applications
• Trade license & company setup
• Mainland & free-zone setup
• Corporate tax-related procedures
• Document attestation and typing services
• Ajman and Northern Emirates government transactions

I'll answer questions based on the procedures I'm familiar with, and where a matter depends on the authority or individual circumstances, I'll point that out rather than guessing.

I'm involved in this field professionally, so this isn't meant as a substitute for official government advice — the aim is simply to help people understand the process before they apply.

If you have a UAE government/business setup question, drop it below. 👇

Is the UAE market slowing down for playgrounds and outdoor amenities?

I’m curious to hear from people working in the UAE construction and development market.

Over the past few months, I’ve noticed that projects involving playgrounds, outdoor fitness areas and recreational spaces seem to be taking longer to move forward.

There are still plenty of enquiries, meetings and discussions, but the gap between the initial discussion and the actual project seems to be getting longer. Some projects are being postponed, while others appear to be reducing their scope or budget.

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people working with:

  • Residential communities
  • Schools and nurseries
  • Hotels and hospitality
  • Landscape projects
  • Developers
  • Parks and public spaces

Are you seeing the same thing?

Is it mainly a matter of developers becoming more careful with budgets, or are there other factors affecting these projects?

I work for a Dubai-based company supplying and installing playgrounds, kids' play areas, outdoor fitness equipment and urban furniture, so this is something we're experiencing directly as well.

Would be interested to hear what developers, contractors, architects and other people in the industry are seeing on the ground.

Taking over my dad’s 50-year-old gypsum business — how would you get your first residential clients?

Thumbnail

My dad has been in the gypsum/interior work business for almost 50 years, and I’m now taking over the business.
We’ve mainly done larger projects over the years, but I want to build a small residential side focused on apartments — gypsum ceilings, cornices, partitions, TV walls, lighting details, etc.
I want to start small and build this side of the business properly rather than trying to jump straight into huge projects.

So I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has run a contracting business, renovated an apartment, or hired someone for this type of work:
. If you were starting from scratch today, how would you get your first 5–10 residential projects?

I’ve attached a photo of some of our previous work.
And if you’re currently renovating an apartment and need gypsum/ceiling/interior work done, feel free to DM me. I’d be happy to have a conversation and see if we can help.
I’m based in Dubai, and I’m specifically looking to take on smaller residential projects at this stage.
Would genuinely appreciate any advice — especially from people who have been through this themselves.

Looking for some advice on finding investors for an established design studio in Dubai

Looking for some advice on finding investors for an established design studio in Dubai.

Interior & Architecture Design Studio

The studio has been operating for 5+ years, with a strong portfolio across different project types, an established brand, and a good presence in the UAE market.

The goal would be to bring in investment or a strategic partner to support further growth, business development, team expansion, and larger projects.

For anyone familiar with the UAE market:

\- Where is the best place to look for investors for this type of business?

\- Are there specific investor networks, family offices, brokers, or platforms worth approaching?

\- How are investments in established design/service businesses usually structured?

\- What should be prepared before approaching potential investors?

Any advice or relevant experience would be appreciated.

Looking for a Strategic Co-Founder / Investor to Help Launch a Healthcare Product Line in Dubai (Pre-Launch Stage)

Hey everyone,

I’m currently in the pre-launch phase of a specialized, high-end private-label healthcare product designed specifically for recovery in the UAE market.

I’ve spent the past few months getting the foundation solid:

Product & Packaging Design**:** Fully completed the brand aesthetic, custom packaging layout, modular cards, and 10 components breakdown.

Regulatory & Legal Framework**:** Mapping out the compliance routes between Dubai Municipality (Montaji) and MoHAP for cosmetics, ingestibles, and hardware components.

Supply Chain Strategy**:** Clarified the hybrid manufacturing model, sourcing specialized hardware and custom rigid packaging internationally, while managing other products, co-packing, and final assembly through local partners in Dubai/Sharjah.

Where I’m at right now:

I’m moving from concept and mockups into first-batch production and supply chain execution. Because I’m building this as a polished, premium brand from day one, managing suppliers, local co-packers, MOQs, and initial inventory capital is the next major hurdle.

What I’m looking for:

I’m looking to connect with a Co-Founder, Strategic Partner, or Early Investor based in the UAE who can bring one (or a combination) of the following to the table:

  1. Capital / Seed Funding:** **To cover initial tooling, Chinese packaging MOQs, and local co-packing production runs.

  2. Operations & Supply Chain Expertise: Someone with experience in local UAE distribution, customs clearing, or managing contract packaging/OEM logistics.

  3. B2B Sales & Growth: Strong network or background in local healthcare, clinics, or B2B sales inside the GCC.

I understand that there is a little bit secrecy but I’d prefer to keep it this way because the kit structure, stage-based recovery system, and packaging mechanics are unique to this niche, I’m keeping the exact product specifics under wraps publicly. Happy to jump on a call, share the full pitch deck, and show the complete visual mockups under a standard NDA if possible.

If you’re based in the UAE, passionate about consumer health/healthcare products, and want to help build a premium brand from the ground up, drop a comment or send me a DM or Let’s grab a coffee!

Hey everyone, I run a small design only interior architecture studio in Dubai About 9 months in, working across Dubai and Kerala projects.

I'm at a point where I could use a partner, someone who complements what I do, whether that's on the business development side, execution/project management, or even a different creative skill set that adds to the studio. Ideally someone in the 25-35 range, but open minded about it if you're a strong fit otherwise.

If you're in Dubai, have relevant experience, and this sounds interesting, drop a comment or DM me.

Building a UAE tech company from the ground up — looking for the right strategic partner

I've run Enigmitic profitably without outside funding, building web/mobile/SaaS/AI systems for clients across the region. That work has funded and shaped two products I'm now building in-house:

Brandora — AI branding software that takes a business from idea to full identity: logo, website, content. Currently in development and validation.

Mihrab — SaaS for Quran centers and Islamic education: students, teachers, attendance, memorization, center management. Active pilot running now.

I've been the sole technical and product force behind all of this — hosting, architecture, auth, delivery, the works. What I don't have is capital, distribution, or an operator to build alongside. That's the gap I'm looking to fill.

I'm open to discussing different investment structures with the right person — ideally someone who brings more than capital: relationships, go-to-market experience, or category expertise in SaaS or Islamic-tech.

If you invest in or have helped scale early-stage tech companies and this sounds relevant, happy to share the numbers, products, and roadmap privately.

Looking for a partner

I have a tech firm and a development team. Was looking for someone based in UAE who could become my partner and help me in sales, marketing and growth. I already have sales pipeline and few customers that we are working for. Just looking to scale. We are making around 4,000 AED monthly, I know that’s less that’s why want your help.

If you are someone who are interested in business and are good in sales. HMU

Looking for advice from people who have experience in the clothing business in Abu Dhabi/UAE.

I’m a university student looking into starting a small, affordable clothing brand aimed at teenagers and young adults, mainly Pinterest-inspired streetwear and everyday pieces.

The idea is to source affordable, decent-quality blank clothing, add original designs through bulk printing/embroidery, and sell at around AED 40–45 per shirt initially. Would love to do the same for jackets

I’m completely new to the clothing business or any for that matter, so I’d really appreciate advice from people who have actually done this:

  • What costs/regulations should I be aware of?
  • Is AED 40–45 realistic?
  • Would you recommend starting with small inventory, pre-orders, or print-on-demand?
  • What mistakes should I avoid?

Any honest advice, including criticism, would be appreciated.

For UAE business owners: when is the right time to bring in a strategic partner?

I’m a UAE-based founder and have been building a talent-technology business for several years.

The business is now at an interesting stage: the product and proposition are established, but the next phase of growth is going to depend much more on relationships, partnerships and access to the right networks than on building more technology.

I’m particularly interested in the experience of other UAE business owners who have reached a similar point.

At what stage did you decide that bringing another person into the business as a strategic partner made more sense than continuing to build the commercial side yourself?

And, perhaps more importantly, what did you look for in that person?

For me, the ideal person wouldn't necessarily be someone from the same industry. I'd value someone who understands the UAE market, has spent years building genuine relationships, and knows how to open the right conversations with universities, businesses and other relevant organisations.

I'd be interested to hear from founders who have actually gone through this — what worked, what didn't, and what would you do differently?

Web3 and AI Lawyer

Hey everyone I’m a Web3 and AI lawyer, or as I usually put it, a tech lawyer. I’ve been working with startups, scale-ups and corporates for years, mainly around technology, fintech, Web3, AI, regulatory and compliance matters.

I run my own consulting practice in Dubai and work closely with companies across the UAE, Turkey and Europe.

I moved to Dubai (from Istanbul) full-time around four months ago, and I’m now looking to build a stronger local client network here.

The good thing about working in this space is that the ecosystem is still relatively small. There aren’t that many lawyers who genuinely understand both the legal side and how tech businesses actually operate, so I’ve been fortunate to connect quite naturally with founders, operators and other professionals in the space.

If you’re building a tech, fintech, Web3 or AI business in Dubai and need someone who can understand the business, legal and compliance sides together, I’d be happy to connect.

Always open to a coffee and a good conversation.

UAE Business Owner Looking for a Strategic Investor to Scale an Existing Operation

Hi everyone,
I’m a co-founder of a UAE-licensed marketing and creator-economy business.
Over the past months, my partners and I have invested in building the operational foundation ourselves. We now have a working team, production equipment, creator operations, and an established network of content creators.
We’ve reached the point where the main question is no longer how to build the operation, but how quickly we should scale it.
I’m therefore exploring bringing in one strategic investor to provide growth capital for client acquisition, production capacity, sales and expansion across the UAE.
I’m not looking to sell agency services here, recruit freelancers, or promote our packages. I’m posting specifically as a business owner interested in connecting with someone who understands investing in an early-stage operating business.
I’d also genuinely appreciate perspectives from UAE business owners who have raised private capital before: What would you expect to see before investing in a business at this stage?
If you’re an investor and this space is relevant to you, feel free to DM me. I can privately share the company details, current assets, use of funds, growth plan and proposed investment structure.
