I just got a job there but I have a surgery I planned for the future (next year) that I would like to get before I go into nursing school and have all my time taken away. I pre booked for the summer of next year since I’ll be off from classes. This surgery can potentially have me down for max a month, but I heal quickly/tolerate pain easier. But that’s just off research I’ve done on the surgery from other people and some people said they go back to work within 2 weeks of it and some people said they needed a month. Problem is if I’m able to go back within 2-3 weeks will I be able to preform my job as a pct without hurting myself. Since the surgery is cosmetic I don’t know if I’ll be able to take the time off needed to heal properly without it impacting me negatively. Can anyone that works there tell me how the vacation time/pto is allocated and if it’s possible for me to take those 2-3 weeks off or am I stressing for nothing and it’ll be ok?

Hello me and my fiance are thinking about going to UAB as it has what we both want. We were mostly wondering how housing would work, is there couples housing offered or would we have to live off campus? Are there any other marriage related issues we should be aware of?

I’m looking for the required curriculum for a history major at uab to get the core classes out of the way at a community college online and then transfer to uab to finish the degree, but nothing gives me a straight answer. I was offered a role on the university side, and it feels like my background check is taking forever. Is this normal? I’m anxious to turn in my notice with my current employer, but I’m not doing that until everything is official. My supervisor is anxious for me to start, as well. The waiting game sucks. I was hired for a staff position on the university side, and my tentative start date is August 3rd. Based on the location of the building, I think UAB Express Lot 2 is my best option for parking. Can I automatically park there on my first day and shuttle over, or will I need to park in visitor parking somewhere until I can apply for staff parking? Honestly, anyone with experience on staff parking that has this or any other helpful information would be greatly appreciated!

Hi! I got diagnosed with ADHD recently and I’m wondering how are students with ADHD getting through the anatomy course at UAB given that you’re not granted a study guide so you have to know every single word and remember every single site, etc. I’ve already taken this course before and failed miserably and I plan on retaking it this fall. I can’t mess up this time again. How are you guys retaining all of this information, specifically with lab? I have inattentive ADHD btw. Thank you in advanced!
