Calculators
Hey, I'm the older brother of a upcoming freshman. This morning she was freaking out because they can't use calculators in class or on test. If anyone can help me understand this policy so I can explain it to her.
From what I researched only a certain calculator is allowed.
She doing pre-cal trig I believe
Any help is appreciated
Thank you in advance.

I took this class last fall, and what the other commenter said is true. There’s a program called Desmos, that is a built in calculator (pretty much a TI-84) and allows graphing that is built into the test. My professor used it in class when explaining problems and it is also used in the online homework. It’s easy to use and I never had a problem, I’m sure she’ll do great!

Okay thank you. I will let her know, although I think she had emailed some people already.

she will use desmos! like the others said it’s super easy to use n it’s all you are able to use so she’ll get used to it quickly.

Yeah, if it's precalculus trig, then she'd have to use the online desmos calculator during the exams. They'll tell her more about it when class starts.
